Taryn paced her apartment, Spork following her at her feet as she attempted to calm herself down. She didn't know what the hell was wrong with her feelings, but she needed to do something about them. She ran her fingers through her hair as she waited for a knock or something on the door.
Erin
Erin walked up to the apartment room she knew so well, staring at the door with a sense of unease. She straightened her shoulders and exhaled. She really shouldn't be so anxious...right? Running her fingers through her hair, she stepped forward and knocked twice.
Taryn
Taryn jumped at the sound of the knocking and moved to open the door for who she could only assume was Erin. "Hey you..." She smiled a bit, pulling her inside and kissing her lips softly. After shutting the door, Tar rubbed her eyes and looked at Erin.
Erin
"Hey, Tar," Erin said slowly, giving her girlfriend a small smile and kissing her again. She crouched down and scratched Spork behind the ear. Standing up, she frowned a bit. "...You okay?"
Taryn
"Uh... yeah, I'm okay..." Taryn ran her fingers through her hair again, leaning back against the wall nervously. "But we need to have a small discussion."
Erin
"...Oh," Erin murmured, surprised. "Um, okay." She walked over to the couch, eyebrows knitted together.
Taryn
"I just..." Taryn walked into the living room and stayed leaning against one wall. She played with her fingers and looked over at her girlfriend. "I don't mean to be insensitive or rude and I really don't want to hurt you, but I just don't think things between us are working right now. I feel like we constantly fight about stupid things and I can't seem to be more than just... content. I don't want to let this go further if I don't think it's going to work out..."
Erin
Erin stood still, shaking slowly as she lowered herself onto the couch. It took her a minute to clear her thoughts after Taryn had finished speaking, and even then, everything was entirely too overwhelming. "You're joking...you're joking, right?"
Taryn
Taryn bit her lip and tucked her hair behind her ear, her eyes tearing up. "I'm... I'm sorry, Erin. I didn't mean for this to happen."
Erin
Her throat tightened, and she opened her mouth to no avail. "I thought we were happy..." she choked out. She blinked a few times and tried to keep her expression calm. "I thought..."
Taryn
Scratching her head, Taryn held tears back, attempting to not look at the other girl. "I just... I don't think we can do this anymore, I'm sorry."
Erin
'You're not even going to give me a reason?" Erin asked, wishing that her voice sounded a lot less pathetic than it did.
Taryn
Taryn pouted, knowing very well that she should have a reason... but she really didn't. Nothing other than being interesteed in other girls and what she was about to tell her. "I am content with you, Erin... I'm not happy. There's a difference. We're just not right for each other."
Erin
"You're...not happy," Erin repeated. "Oh." There was split second where she considered breaking down. Or throwing up. But that wasn't her. And she'd always figured deep down that she wasn't good enough. No matter how much encouragement Taryn had been giving her, this was just validating her fears. "Would fighting for you even give me a chance?"
Taryn
"Erin..." Taryn stepped forward and took the blonde girl's hand. She was doing so much right and Taryn didn't know how to tell her that. "Fighting for me would be awful because I'm losing in this situation. I'm the one that is breaking your heart. You'd be crazy to fight for someone like me."
Erin
Erin flinched at the contact as her eyes began to sting. All she wanted to ask was why, over and over again until she was satisfied, but she didn't need the reminder. "You're not the one losing."
Taryn
"I am the one losing, Erin. You're far too good for me and I'm blinded by too many other things to see that." Taryn sighed and bit her lip, pulling back. "I'm so sorry for hurting you."
Erin
Erin stood up, managing a weak smile. She turned away and squeezed her eyes shut, wiping her sleeve across her face. She didn't want to hear anymore, because Taryn's attempts to reassure her and what she was doing were too contradicting for her to deal with. "Yeah, I...think I just need to go home, okay?"
Taryn
"Go home, I guess." Taryn rubbed her eyes and watched the girl stand up. She yawned a bit before continuing to watch. "Bye Erin."
Erin
Erin's face fell at Taryn's almost indifferent dismissal, and she stumbled to the door. She started to turn her head, but sniffled once and gripped the doorknob. "Yeah. Bye, Taryn."
Time: July 16th, Erin's apartment
Notes: Officially girlfriends ~~
Taryn and Erin had spent the day hanging out together in Erin's apartment and it wasn't long before they'd found their way to the living room in the blonde's place. Taryn ran her fingers through her hair as she sat on the edge of her friend's couch, removing her shirt to leave her in just a tank. "Pretty sure it's illegal to have as cute of an ass as you do." She nodded, pointing at Erin.
Erin
Erin rolled her eyes playfully as she stood in the kitchen, shimmying a bit for good measure before laughing. "You're the cute one here. Just eat your nutella, woman," she said, walking over with a sandwich. She sat next to Taryn, holding the plate out and tilting her head. "Want half? Ah, not you," she added, looking at the puppy that had trotted over. "Nope."
Taryn
Taryn bit her lip as she watched Erin's hips, attempting to make the naughtiest thoughts go away. " Mmm. Of course." She grinned, taking half of the sandwich before pulling Erin from beside her into her lap. "Zephyr is going to get jealous." Taryn nodded, smirking a bit to herseld.
Erin
"Aww, he can deal. He has food in the kitchen," Erin replied, giving the dog a sympathetic frown. "I take it you're enjoying your vacation?" she murmured into the girl's shoulder before pulling back to eat some of her food.
Taryn
"I didn't mean of the food..." She giggled, nuzzling her face into Erin's neck before pulling away to take a bite. "Mhm, that I am, Miss Calvert. It's been nice staying at your place. So thank you." She smiled, rubbing the other girl's back. "This is good."
Erin
Erin shook her head, smiling. "It's not a big deal. ...Regardless, he's got that nutella stain in my bedroom to occupy himself with," she pointed out, with an obvious pokerface. "You couldn't keep him away from it until I got off of work?" she asked, laughing quietly. Teasingly, she added, "I should confiscate that stuff, since you won't even share it."
Taryn
Taryn smiled softly, laughing a bit to herself about the wreslting match that occurred when she broke a jar of nutella. "I'm sorry! I hadn't meant to." She frowned a little. "It was really hard, okay? We had quite the long talk and bruises were given when I tried to tackle him." Taryn bit her lip. "Hey, I shared it to make this sandwich..."
Erin
"My apartment is full of stubborn people." Sighing dramatically, she smirked and took another bite. "I guess I should be grateful for that. Took you long enough," she admitted, sticking out her tongue.
Taryn
"Me and your puppy, you mean?" She shook her head, rolling her eyes. Taryn bit her lip again. "Eh, I don't share with just anyone." A nod was given before she spoke again. "Well, other than your puppy wanting the food, I still think he's going to be getting jealous a lot in the future." She grinned.
Erin
"He's a person, too," Erin joked, then paused mid-bite as Taryn spoke. "So, you're saying you'll be hogging me, /and/ you're sharing your nutella? Wow, I think the world is ending. Does that make me special or something?"
Taryn
"He's hardly a person." Taryn exclaimed, rubbing her eye. "The world is not ending! but yes, I will be hogging you and sharing my nutella. It doesn't just make you special, it makes you my girlfriend."
Erin
"He's my baby though," she explained with a pout. She sat still for a few seconds after Taryn finished speaking, and blinked once. A grin formed on her face and she crashed her lips against the brunette's in an eager kiss.
Taryn
"He's a dog." She laughed, watching Erin's face. Taryn laughed softly and kissed the girl back, holding her closely as the two of them kissed one another passionately. She pulled back, smirking a bit. "Oh yeah?"
Erin
"Mhmmm," Erin hummed, wrapping one arm around the girl's neck to pull her down and kiss her again. "I'm really happy, okay?"
Taryn
"Mmm. I like those kisses." Taryn tapped her nose and then kissed her once again. "I love that you're happy, but why all of a sudden, dear?"
Erin
"Because you're mine," she said simply.
Taryn
"BEcause I'm your girlfriend?" She grinned at the word.
Erin
Erin nodded in agreement. "Because you're my girlfriend."
