Ever heard of Calvert, Texas?
Me neither. I’m not too sure if many Texans have even heard of this 1,400 person town. However, if you find yourself en route to Houston from Waco, the refreshing little gem of a neighborhood is definitely worth a visit!
Nestled in the heart of Calvert lies one of the town’s most precious treasures, the Pin Oak Bed and Breakfast. This 112 year old home boasts a landscape laced with dozens of majestic oak trees and exudes a Gone-with-the-Wind flair that Margaret Mitchell herself would write home about. A charming wrap-around porch beckons its guests to the stained-glass front door entry, which leads to a breathtaking foyer. With a quick glimpse to the right, the crew stops dead in our tracks as we behold the beauty inside the parlor.
Check out this quick snapshot I caught of Dave’s reaction to the gramophone we discovered. I dare say it wins the “Coolest Antique We’ve Ever Seen” award for this Mutual of Omaha crew.
