Small Cam fic

Cam didn't really understand why so many things she did daily concerned her so called "friends" so much, well at least until she remembered that said things weren't exactly normal to most. Like how she looked up at the sky sometimes and seemed to give a death glare to something or someone that wasn't even there. She didn't like it. It's not like she WANTED to be the only one that could see—she didn't even finish the thought. She didn't feel like it, she was only talking to herself after all.

But as she travelled through the forbidden forest, everything reminded her of that thought. The way the trees seemed to clip together unnaturally, the way the ground often flickered between the normal texture and the default no-texture of a game engine, and the worst of all was how she could feel the presence of that person she HATED the most.

There was a reason the forest was forbidden, it was a damn good one for most people too. Anytime someone entered the forest, they never came back out, no one knew what had happened to them.

But she knew.

Being seemingly the only one that was able to explore the forest without disappearing, she knew what happened to those idiots. She passed by one of them as she was walking, and stopped to look at the person, or what was one.

She couldn't even tell what they were anymore, as their body was distorted, they had no texture, and they were somewhat merged with the environment now. Most people would be disturbed by it, but Cam was far from most people. Hell, she didn't even get affected by the forest at all.

She smiled as she looked at the person's distorted face, what was clearly their jaw stretched down like something out of a horror film, grinning as she sparked up conversation with someone who couldn't even be understood anymore.
