Camel cigarettes ads
I don't know what it is, but Camel art/design/packaging has some mysterious allure to it. Although I don't smoke camels regularly as my standard brand (I have switched to Marlboros, when Camel switched it's formula.) but I did start with camels, and smoked them for years. The whole Joe the camel thing is obvious that it snagged me as a kid. it's probably a good thing that they don't use him anymore for the kids. Either way I can't place what the mysterious feeling I attribute to camels. Design in general was at it's peak in the 70's and early 80's. Everything went to shit when they started turning everything into an oval, and abandoning the right angle, and primary colors. Design now days is just amorphous blobs of muted tones, too much light Grey and lack of strong angles.
