I have been meaning to post on the blog for a while, but to be honest, I haven’t been taking many photos of late, well, I have, but it’s been mostly studio work.
But, I did get out into Yeovil the other day, to playing with a new bit of kit and to see what happened with the exhibition in the Nine Springs Clinic.
The exhibition was fantastic! I’m so pleased I was asked to display my work there. I did bring home a few pieces, but I have something lined up for them, news to follow.
I really do want to say thank you to Nine Springs Clinic, it’s an excellent space in there and really good for displaying work. I’ve had some excellent feedback about my work and it was a really great learning curve. I really can’t thank them enough.
So, the clinic is very near the Nine Springs Country Park, just on the outskirts of Yeovil, Somerset. It’s a beautiful place down there and I went to play with this :
Camera Handle
It basically means you can get the camera very close to the ground or water. I decided water was the best way to start. :)
The first thing I noticed is that with the battery pack on, the camera doesn’t fit in the cradle, so I had to take it off and put in one battery (instead of the two in the pack), but that was fine. I tried it at first with my Sigma 18-150mm lens, since it’s got Image Stabilization in it, but I didn’t really like it, so I switched my new Prime lens, this was better, but at the same time, I missed the IS. But I liked the results.
I need to learn to use it properly, which might sound silly, but with no IS on the lens, it needs a much steadier hand.
I also need to go to the duck ponds when there is 1. more ducks about and 2. less children about. The children seem to love to run and chase the ducks, which isn’t good, since ducks are prone to heart attacks if scared. :(
Down the duck ponds I have been meaning to post on the blog for a while, but to be honest, I haven't been taking many photos of late, well, I have, but it's been mostly studio work.
