LEGS. Quick-release latches, one of my main criteria when comparison-shopping for a tripod (screw locks are slower, more fiddly to open/close, and harder to clean).

Gonna make taking panoramic shots so much easier now that I can for sure keep the camera uniformly level across all shots. Quick-release plate so I don't have to fiddle with the mounting system every time I stop to take photos.

Also it has extendable foot spikes for anchoring in slippery terrain. Or if I need to stab a bear or something.

Been looking into getting a camera tripod for a while, researching what local stores had, and comparing specs and prices. I don't need one of the really fancy lightweight carbon-fibre ones, or the massive can-hold-20kg-worth-of-huge-telephoto-lens tripods, but I did want something decently solid and sturdy. Closer to $300 than $30, y'know. Wasn't planning on getting one so soon, but my mother visited over New Year's and said she'd buy me one if I found one I liked, so I went home with this one. Probably going to put a different shoulder strap on it though; the included strap has, like, no padding whatsoever.
