Cameras are addicting. Like bikes or records, it’s tough to have just one. They are little sculptural functional works of art, little magic boxes that freeze time and feel good in your hand. This magic box is a Kodak Duaflex II. It was made sometime in the early 50’s. It’s been floating around the studio for years. I can’t even remember where it came from anymore. Sometimes cameras have personalities. This one is not so serious. It’s really kind of a toy camera, fully functioning, but made of plastic and aluminum. Similar to a Holga or Diana camera, it produces images with soft edges and a bit of random character. It doesn’t really care if it nails down the details as long as it gets the vibe right. It is certainly not like the digital camera that captured this image. That camera wants to control everything. That camera has bright white teeth and just got back from the gym where it benched a new personal record. That camera is so psyched it’s going to make a celebratory smoothie and dust its sensor. . . . . . #camera #kodak #duaflexII #magicbox #cameraaddiction #nikon #color (at Minneapolis, Minnesota) https://www.instagram.com/p/CLKL2ugF7dT/?igshid=eoeb232vy5f6
