Bo had apologized more than once mostly over texts when he started seeing all their friends post about their dates won at the auction while he was stuck somewhere in the middle of the Kentucky-Tennessee border for military drills. Even if it was a fake kinda date, he wanted to make it up to his friend so he actually put a little thought into it. He wasn’t really the fancy dinner type, mostly because he didn’t even know where he could take her, but when he read the Orionids meteor shower was still happening until the beginning of November, he got excited. It had been many countless nights he spent sleeping outside in the dessert with nothing but a rifle in his arms and the night sky above him.
The drive to Bell’s Bend Park was under 1 hour so he packed the back of his truck with a few throws and a cooler full of drinks and snacks for them before picking her up. “I’m going to be honest here. This is totally selfish... but I think you’ll like it, too. Besides, we got lots to catch up on, huh? I’m gone one week. One week, Cam, and all hell breaks loose. Good thing I got you to catch me up on things.”
