Cameron Dallas - Lake Nights and Late Nights
1:30 am. It was dark, and chilly outside at the lake house. The lake was calm, it was smooth as glass. It was peaceful. I walked out of the house and down the deck. I walked to the end of the dock barefoot. I had a blanket around my shoulders. I took a seat right on the edge of the dock and dangled my feet, dipping my feet into the cold water. I took deep breaths, just trying to appreciate the silence and beauty of the early morning. I heard light footsteps and craned my neck around to see Cameron's figure walking towards me. He had basket ball shorts on, a hoodie, and his messy hair. He was incredible- even half asleep. I heard him trudge his feet on the dock and took a seat on the edge next to me. Without saying a word Cameron grabbed my hand and held it in his lap. He kept stroking his thumb over the soft skin of my hand. He looked out at the lake and then turned his attention to me. "I just want you to know I like you. Like, a lot" he said. I didn't say anything, still focusing on the lovely feeling of him holding my hand. "I've been thinking about you a lot. This summer's been...really great. I don't want to stop talking when we go home next week" he said sadly. Summer was coming to a close and we were all returning to regular life in our home towns. I looked at Cameron. "I like you too. We don't have to lose touch. I'm always here y'know, whatever you need" I said quietly and smiled. He smiled back and put his arm around me and pulled me into his side. "Can I ask you something?" "Yeah, anything" I replied. "Would you wanna maybe go back to my house, now?" He sounded nervous. He was giving me butterflies at the thought of what we could end up doing at his house. "Yes" I said flatly. He grinned and stood up. Taking my hand he helped me up. I followed him to his cottage. We had a lot of late night hang outs this summer, but something told me this time it would be different. He opened the door for me and let me walk in first. I heard him close the door behind me. He grabbed my hand again and led me to his room. I went in and sat on his bed. He shut his door and stood in front of me. I grabbed my blanket and began placing it over my lap. Cameron sat down next to me and grasped my wrist. "You're not gonna need the blanket tonight..." He whispered. He pulled the blanket off of me and let it fall to his bedroom floor. He placed his hand on the side of my face. Closing what little space was between us, he brushed his lips against mine. I shuddered at the soft feeling. I inhaled sharply. And then he kissed me. He was right. That night I didn't need that blanket. I had him.
