LEOPOLD’S Bunnings Warehouse was officially opened as part of the $72 million Gateway Plaza retail expansion
Special guest and Geelong Cats premiership captain Cameron Ling joined Bunnings managing director Michael Schneider and Leopold staff at the $28m facility, which opened its doors to the public earlier this month.
Store manager Mick Gann said he and his team were looking forward to welcoming locals to the store and lending a helping hand in community projects.
“Team members have supported a number of community groups already, working together to assist in local community projects — including giving Leopold Football Club’s social rooms a paint job, new blinds and awnings as well as supplying materials for clubroom renovations Moolap Tennis Club,’’ Mr Gann said.
“Bunnings is always looking for opportunities to contribute to local causes and we look forward to providing assistance to more local community groups in the future.’’
The official opening was also attended by suppliers and companies involved in the warehouse construction.
Work on the Gateway Plaza expansion continues, with other major tenants Kmart and discount supermarket chain ALDI to open soon.
