Balancing among Jacob Blake, a pandemic, my job, and this has been...a lot to say the least.

This is affecting my home and my family’s homes yet again.

Hurricane Laura is so similar to Hurricane Rita 15 years ago, something I vividly remember evacuating from, yet still experiencing its wrath once it found us. The path is similar. The strength is similar. I’m worried.

For all looking for news on the storm, follow the local news. ABC13, KPRC Local 2, KHOU 11 News, and FOX 26 in Houston, and News12 in Beaumont are a few examples in Texas. KATC TV3 and KLFY 10 are two examples in Acadiana (southwest Louisiana). WVUE FOX 8 and KPLC7, serving southwest Louisiana and especially Lake Charles, are moving to Baton Rouge, the latter to WAFB, as it’s not safe to be in Cameron or Calcasieu Parishes right now. All are active on social media and on their websites.
