Another Cinderella Story - Cameron Imagine for @tincangilinsky
You stared at yourself in the mirror. You were wearing sweats with a tank top. You looked up to see your step sisters giggling, throwing accessories, and fixing up their hair. "(Y/N), I expect you to clean this house top to bottom. Every nook and cranny will be cleaned, or I promise you, I'll make your life a living hell." the voice hauntingly said. You looked up to see your step mom. The woman who took you in and treated you like dirt. She treated you like a rag, a rag that gets old and dirty. But no matter how old or dirty it gets, it's reused over and over until it rips. "Can you at least tell me why I can't go to the ball?" you whimpered. "You can't go because 1, you don't have a dress. 2, you have chores. 3, you can't dance. 4, your reputation will ruin us." she spat harshly. You stared at the mirror. You saw your hair glow, your eyes shining, your cheeks pink. So why did your step mom think you weren't good enough to go? "If I get a dress, and do all my chores, can I go?" you urged. She rolled her eyes and laughed. "If you can." With that your step sisters left with your step mom. Swaying their hips from side to side. You rushed to the kitchen and began washing the dishes. One after another. Than you sped to the laundry room, folding the clothes and putting them away neatly. You ran towards the closest where the broom was kept and swept the house. By the time you were done, you quickly ran upstairs to get your dress for the ball. You opened the closest, and the red dress was hooked against the door. You ran your fingers through it, admiring the fabric, admiring the hard work you put into it, admiring how you know you'll be able to make it look good. You peeled off your dirty clothes and took a shower. Rinsing off stains, and washing away the smell of sweat. You exited the shower and threw your dress on. You twirled around and stared at yourself. Admiring how good the dress matched your skin tone. "They don't even know that I used to dance." you laughed. You got up and quickly made your way to the ball. The ball was basically the theme of the party. You entered the party. You saw lights flashing everywhere. From blue to orange, from black and white to rainbow. You couldn't help but smile. You slowly started making your way to the snack table, when you heard your favorite song came on. It was a song you knew ever since you were young. You were born to dance this song. You made your way into the center of the room and slowly starting moving your hips. You needed a partner. It was such a coincidence, when you felt a pair of hands take your hands into theirs. You looked up to see it was Cameron. Cameron Dallas. Everyone knew who he was. He was on top of the food chain at school. You thought he would say your name too, but you realized you had a mask on. The song continued you and you and Cameron danced in sync. "Hey your a really good dancer." he whispered into your ears. You couldn't help but smile, and continue to dance. "I felt like I seen you dance before. I felt like I seen you before. I just can't remember it right now." "Trust me, you don't know me. I'm a no body." you quietly said. The song was coming to an end, and you did a twirl and ending up in Cameron's arm. You felt how strong they were and couldn't help but get butterflies. "It's time to reveal our secret da-" You didn't want for the DJ to finish the sentence. You rushed outside. Making Cameron lose his grip and rush after you. If they find out it was you, your life will be ruined. Your step mom will take the credit and say it was one of her step daughters. People will say that Cameron felt bad for you. You can't be known. You just couldn't. You were thinking to much and as your made your way down the steps you tripped. Hurting your ankle, and ripping the bottom of your dress. "Shit, it hurts to move." you panicked. "No one told you to run away." A familiar voice piped up. "I'm sorry.." you whispered. You saw Cameron make his way up to you. He kneeled down and examined your ankle. "You can't walk on that. I'll give you a ride home. Sounds good?" Cameron asked smiling. That smile made you go weak. You nodded. You saw his hand reach for your mask and you pulled back. "I'm sorry, you probably want to keep it a secret." Cameron replied. He sounded a bit sad, but picked you up in a bride style, and carried you to his car. As the drive home came to an end, he carried you to the front steps of your house, and put you down. "Are you going to be okay?" Cameron asked worried. "I'll be fine." you reassured him. "I'm so sorry, but I just have to know." Cameron whispered. You felt his fingers trace your cheek, and slowly took off the mask. "I'm sorry. I'm not what you expected." you whispered. Suddenly doubting yourself. "No. I know who you are. I watched you dance before. Alone in the practice room. I've watched you every time you danced. You are beautiful. I just never had the balls to actually talk to you." Cameron laughed nervously. "Why, I'm just (Y/N). I'm just an insecure, lame, stupid girl who shouldn't get your attention -" Cameron cut you off as he placed his hand on your cheek and the other one on your waist. "But I know who you are now." he whispered and he pressed his lips against yours. You were shocked at first, but eventually your hands rested at his neck. Feeling the warmth of his lips made you feel reassured that you weren't pathetic as your step mom says. Or what anyone says. As you pulled away, Cameron looked at you. "I finally know who my Cinderella is." he whispered into your ears as he kissed your forehead lightly.
