If there's stupid people reposting your stuff and cutting your signature or your tumblr url, put it in places it's impossible to cut. It's so bad what that assholes are doing to you. :(

i try to! that’s why it’s usually curved around the outline of a character now, but when i do the comics it’s a lot harder to fit it in without obstructing the art too much. 

it looks like i’m going to need to start doing better composition, maybe shape each panel around the signature instead of adding it in as the finishing touch. i might start putting “do not repost” in the actual pictures now too (which i was trying to avoid for the sake of too much distracting text); it won’t stop people reposting but at least anyone who sees a repost will know it wasn’t done with permission

really though, the only time i’ve ever directly granted permission for my stuff to be reused is when people have dubbed over the comics, because that’s actually adding a whole new dimension to the original work which is a lot of fun, and it’s always respectful to (and fully cleared by) the artists involved - so photo edits, promotional roleplay blog banners, reposts on other sites outside tumblr (basically anything where people didn’t ask), absolutely not. 

i’m honestly pretty lax with a lot of those boundaries if i’m just asked, but the thing is that people don’t ask. i get that a lot of the time you just don’t think to do that, but if you aren’t asking because you’re worried you’ll get a no, you probably shouldn’t be using the stuff anyway.
