The Picower Institute for Learning and Memory sits in the department of MIT's Brain and Cognitive Sciences. When the building first opened in 2005 it was the largest neuroscience complex facility in the world and may very well still be. The buildings #architect was the late #CharlesCorrea who also taught at MIT. Influential science writer, economist, and intellectual Juan Enriquez wrote in Wired magazine that “The most innovative and productive crossroads in history, [is at] the intersection of Vassar Street and Main Street”. The Picower Institute sits precisely at this intersection. @mitpics @mitscience This post is part of my Council for the Arts at MIT (#CAMIT) Grant, which I was awarded in May of 2016. As part of this project I am documenting my documentation of #neuroscience research, the people that conduct said research, and the spaces where research takes place using @new55film PN large format #blackandwhite instant film. @mitarchitecture @mitshass @artsatmit
