What up, I'm Kendra, I'm 23, and I never fucking learned how to boat
“The earth has music for those who listen” 🖤
Me: "you can't make a girl choose between food and puppies!"
Friend: "yes you can."
Me: "You don't like dogs tho. What if it was kittens?"
Friend: *visibly distressed*
Me: "see???"
Camp days 🔥 🍺
I don't know what it is but I don't have social anxiety here. Sure it bubbles up every once in a while when I'm dealing with a difficult parent, or I'm extra tired and forget how to words, or when I'm intimidated by someone (for some reason the most intimidating people here are two teenage girls)
But day one of staff week I was thrown into a world where you're basically an npc from 7am to 10pm, and I thrive here. I have friends that were effortless to make. I'm using my voice all day. I can walk up to the people I work with and yell something stupid at them. I'm not afraid of my boss. When I fuck up I only feel like I wanna die when I'm also exhausted. I don't get flustered when I don't understand what a kid is saying.
I'm drinking water all day, I'm eating three healthy-ish meals a day, I'm tan, I'm walking everywhere. I'm gonna have amazing calves and skin.
I was meant to be here.
Maybe not in the position I was given, but I was definitely meant to work at this camp.
I may have accidentally locked down the aquatics director position for myself for next summer.
Pros:
More money
Not Village Staff
Cons:
Gotta be in charge of the teen male lifeguards
Gotta save lives if anything happens
SUNBURN
The pool broke like 5 times this year???
I think I'm gonna do it though..
