Albert: Albert Palmer is a deeply devoted and grieving husband, whose life has been irrevocably altered since the disappearance of his wife, General Jane Palmer.

Living in an off-grid home that he built himself, Albert’s life is a testament to his commitment to preserving the memory of Jane and finding answers about her disappearance. His isolation is both a sanctuary and a prison, as it allows him to focus on his personal quest while also amplifying his sense of loss. The home is filled with mementos of Jane, and Albert spends much of his time researching and exploring various conspiracy theories in hopes of uncovering the truth behind her vanishing.

One of Albert’s most consuming projects is building a robot designed to resemble Jane Palmer. All done in secret, of course.

Annie: Annie Palmer, the couple’s eldest child, has followed a path vastly different from what her parents might have envisioned. Her life took an unexpected turn after college when she became involved in an alien-worshipping cult and relocated to Redmond Canyon.

Isaac: Isaac Palmer, the younger sibling, chose a more conventional path by attending college to study literature. His current life is centered around his studies and personal growth, reflecting a move towards a different kind of fulfillment compared to his sister’s and father’s choices.

At the heart of the island stands the military base, a formidable presence amidst its natural surroundings. The base is a network of state-of-the-art facilities strategically positioned to maximize security and operational efficiency.

In the evening, as the sun dips below the horizon, the base comes alive with activity under the soft glow of floodlights. Soldiers gather for briefings, maintenance crews conduct inspections, and the hum of machinery blends with the sounds of nature settling into night. The island's isolation lends an air of tranquility, yet the base remains vigilant, a sentinel guarding against unseen threats in the vast expanse of the ocean beyond.

Min-jun & Ha-eun: Min-jun and Ha-eun are the Ahn family's twin babies, bringing joy and new experiences to their parents' lives. Though still infants, each is already showing signs of distinct personalities.

Her numerous affairs during their marriage led to a bitter separation, with Carmella ultimately kicking Nasir out of their home. Nasir has since returned to Bleakfort, leaving Carmella to raise their daughter, Relia, on her own.

Relia: Relia Bates is an 11-year-old girl caught in the middle of her parents' fractured relationship. Intelligent and sensitive, Relia is a perceptive child who understands more about the world around her than her age might suggest. She deeply misses her father, Nasir, and often feels the absence of his warmth and kindness in her life. Relia’s relationship with her mother, Carmella, is strained; while she respects her mother’s strength, she yearns for a softer, more nurturing connection that Carmella struggles to provide.
