DFG Worldbuilding

The focus of @wlwwrites camp prep livestream was worldbuilding

I managed to nail down at least one fact for each realm, which is exciting! And I came up with more questions for myself to find answers to! (feel free to pop into the comments if you have ideas or opinions)

I still don’t know whether the realms should parallel Earth, appearance-wise

How does travel between realms work?

Things I do know:

Governments

Heaven has the typical heirarchy: God > Archangels > Angels > Citizens

Hell is mostly anarchy. Demons are assigned to their area, and Luci is there to keep order, but for the most part everyone just does their own thing

Purgatory is complete anarchy, and it’s honestly kinda “Lord of the Flies”-esque.

What is an “unspoken rule” outsiders might not know?

When you’re in Heaven, don’t talk to the Angels, especially not while they’re working. They despise distractions.

What is the climate like?

While on Earth, the story is set in a fictional town in Oregon. The sort of town that is very green and has lots of trees. It rains most of the year, though summers can be very hot.

Camp NaNo Prep

Today during @wlwwrites prep livestream, we worked on plotting!

Now, my project is a second draft, but I actually did very minimal outlining for it, and there is so much I need to add this time through! But I know what I need to add now :D

We also wrote loglines! Here’s what I came up with:

Everything changes for Angel when she wakes up one morning with wings and angelic powers, and the Archangel Michael in her bedroom. While searching for her destiny, she manages to find love and safety in the one place she’s told never to go, and the only place she feels at home.

Camp NaNo July 2019

I am happy to let y’all know that I will be participating in Camp NaNo this time through! I’m also participating in @wlwwrites Camp NaNo Prep Week this week!

I’m about 98% sure that I’ll be working on the 2nd draft of Destined for Grayness during the month.

The basics of the story are below the cut.

Title: Destined for Grayness

Premise: A young woman named Angelina wakes one morning to find she’s become an angel of the lord. As her shady past begins to catch up to her, she befriends a woman who leads her to fall from grace--but she doesn’t care. Luci is the best, and perhaps the worst, thing that could ever happen to her.

Genre: I’m not exactly sure if it’s YA or NA, since the protag is I think 18-19. But it will have some darker subject matter and scenes so I lean towards NA.

Looking forward to: I’m most looking forward to getting to write Angel again. I haven’t touched this WIP in a while, so that’s really exciting for me.
