Campbell and Gwen vs David in the art of catching Max off-guard

Granted, in David’s picture, Max begrudgingly said a good thing. But David’s response was still unexpected (not sure why Max didn’t expect it, tbh). 

So let’s say Max’s reaction in that last screencap was because he didn’t fear physical punishment. What about all these other times?

He doesn’t really lunge for/get in Max’s face anymore so I had a tough time finding any from the most recent seasons.

TL;DR - Max trusts/feels more comfortable with David than he does with anyone else and he’s felt that way from the start.

When Hellsing!Campbell was trying to frame David, did he try to bring out Daniel to make David look bad or did he just try to hunt the councilors instead?

After the events of Parents Day, Cameron “Campbell” Van Helsing dresses up as Sam-boy Van Heckscream in order to convince Ered’s vampire dads that David is a double agent who wishes to expose monster kind to humans.

In order to get this, he asks for Max to help by drawing out Daniel who’s dangerous methods could be used as evidence against David. Cameron plans to steal the potion and render David unable to change back (at least not easily). Of course something like this would ruin David- not just his career- but get him kicked out of the monster society entirely. 

Max- of course- reveals the plan the listening agents and saves the camp, and the day!
