Tish the Khaki Campbell and an absolute cutie!

Miss Fibble having a big sip at the water’s edge and looking really funny.

Ducks (like many other birds) drink by filling their bills with water and then tipping their heads back to let gravity do the work in getting it down their throats. This means that they often look very silly when having a drink!

Fibble follows Tish into a pile of branches on the hunt for tasty morsels to eat at Alde Garden.

These two are very talkative and very loud and I love them very much.

Miss Fibble, the Khaki Campbell, hunched down at the side of the path in Alde Garden. Her sister Tish is somewhere behind her in a bush and she is probably waiting for her before she waddles off to join the rest of the flock.

Fibble has a paler chest than her sister and pale wingtips, which is how I tell them apart. She’s also a little more friendly, but since they’re both relatively new to the flock and the campsite, they’re not as used to people as the other ducks so aren’t particularly interested in your company.

Tish the Khaki Campbell duck has a preen on the side of the pond at Alde Garden.

Look at her lovely fluffy butt!

Khaki Campbells were bred by crossing Mallards, Rouen and Indian Runner ducks and are very prolific layers - often surpassing the egg production of the most efficient chicken breeds!

Campbells also come in white and dark colour varieties, and Tish always comes with her sister Fibble. It is rare that one is found far from the other!
