Campfire Cake

unfortunately, I was unable to make one of these myself this year, due to time constraints. but, in honor of my birthday, I wanted to share a recipe for a quick cake that can be made over a campfire! 

the link for the photo leads to one that requires a box mix - it’s quick and easy, though perhaps not the best. 

instead, have this link for a vegan vanilla cake 

and this one, for just a quick vanilla cake

the idea, of course, is that the orange is hollowed out, the cake batter made, poured into the orange, and then the orange is placed over a small campfire for cooking. it gives it a coastal, orange-y flavor, requires no oven or stove, and uses no pans.

while the quick recipe isn’t vegan, it only calls for ix ingredients, all easy to put together. 

i’m sharing this post here, as I find recipes like this are super important! they can be made with no power, little mess, and even less funds. plus, who doesn’t want to cook in an orange?
