Is Ganesh SHiva's illegitimate son?
In Hindu mythology, there are different versions and interpretations of the story of the birth of Ganesha. However, in most versions, Ganesha is not considered to be the illegitimate son of Shiva.
In one popular version of the story, Ganesha is created by Shiva and Parvati, who wanted a child to protect their home while they were away. Parvati created Ganesha from the dirt of her body and gave him life. Shiva, who was away at the time, returned to find Ganesha guarding the entrance to his home and, not recognizing him, became angry and cut off his head. Parvati was devastated, and to make amends, Shiva replaced Ganesha's head with that of an elephant.
In another version, Ganesha is not born from Parvati but from the god Brahma who created him as a leader for the ganas, Shiva's army. Shiva accepted Ganesha as his own son and appointed him as the leader of the ganas.
In both versions, Ganesha is not considered to be an illegitimate son of Shiva, but rather a divine being created or adopted by him and Parvati. Ganesha is one of the most popular and widely worshipped deities in Hinduism and is considered to be the remover of obstacles and the god of wisdom and success.
It's important to note that there are many interpretations and variations of the stories and myths in Hinduism, and there's no one "right" version.
