Micro Adventures: an Escape from everyday life
You don’t have to fly to the other side of the world to go on adventures. You can experience the greatest adventures just around the counter. These adventures are called; micro adventures. So what’s a ‘micro adventure’? It’s a trip close to home, simple, cheap, short and yet very effective. It still captures the essence of big adventures, the challenge, the fun, the escapism, the learning experiences, and the excitement. [1]
When should I go on micro adventure?
You don’t need a lot of time for a micro adventure. The idea: you work from 09:00 to 17:00, you experience micro adventures from 17:00 to 21:00 or have your micro adventure on the weekend, or on your day off. The easy part about it is that you don’t have to plan your adventure months before you go.
Who am I going with?
You can either go by yourself or with friends? Or your parents, children or colleagues from work. Think about what is needed for you at that moment. It can also be good to do a micro adventure on your own. Why? You are not dependent on the agendas of others and if you go alone you have no excuse not to go.
What can I do as micro adventure?
Buy a map from the region that you live in and take a gamble. Point your next destination with your eyes closed. Be a little bit bold and brave and just go with what you pointed at. Whether sleeping in a hammock, a tent or on a rooftop. There are tons of options, just go out and explore! It’s time you discover something new outside your comfort zone.
