Pro-Palestinian demonstrators who occupied Stanford building are charged with felonies
Twelve pro-Palestinian activists, including current and former Stanford University students, are facing criminal charges following their arrest last year for occupying and allegedly damaging a campus building.
According to the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office, the individuals have been charged with felony vandalism and felony conspiracy to trespass. Authorities estimate the damage caused during the protest amounted to hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The charged individuals range in age from 19 to 32 and are scheduled to be arraigned later this month at the Hall of Justice in San Jose.
A student journalist who was arrested at the scene but was not involved in the alleged vandalism has not been charged.
