The Boy Next Door

There is a boy who hangs out on my block. He is so cute, adventurous, hard working and has fun dancing like a dingus just like me. We have had some special moments as friends that I cherish. He has walked with me after a long night of dancing. He has danced with me on the dance floor. Not grinding but, he would throw a dance move at me and I would throw a dance move at him and we would laugh at how ridiculous our dance moves actually were. We go to concerts, not necessarily together but we always would end up seeing each other and make eye contact. We have smoked weed together, I’ve sold him Shrooms, and he has asked me out on a bike trip during Earth Day. He has asked for my help on a sewing project. All I’m saying, is we are friends...

...but I can’t let myself pursue him because of his age. He is five year’s younger than me. And while I don’t want to make age a ‘thing’. Think about your early 20′s? What types of life experiences did you have or are you going through right now? I know I went through several boyfriends, a couple jobs, two apartments, bills, loans, insurance, cooking for myself, getting a cat, and discovering what I like to do when I’m alone. And I’m only going to be twenty-five next month and I feel like I’m still learning so much. He hasn’t even been able to experience the bar scene yet! That’s a whole new world.

His scruffy hair, baby face, young heart and adventurous soul have captured my attention. But now is not the right time to pursue him romantically... even if I did just text him asking what he has been up to...

For creating something so powerful,for making all of us believe in magic,for teaching all of us how to love and how to be a friend,for making our childhood bright,for making us stronger,for bringing magic in our lives.

I know,in hundreds of years people still continue reading the books and watching the movies,children will be waiting for their letters,dreaming about owls and men in funny robes. I just know,Hogwarts exists.When so many people,thousands of people, all over the world believe in something,it just can't be unreal.It's not just a book.And never was.

It will always be alive,for all of us.Harry Potter will NEVER truly end.

And even if I'm a muggle,just a muggle,I am proud I know about this magic,about the Boy-Who-Lived,about Hogwarts,about real friendship and true love.

We will never forget this.
