The Office of National Statistics in a report published recently confirmed over 400 are emigrating from the UK per day throughout 2015. We reviewed over 5,000 applications this year to compile the top 10 professions most likely to emigrate.
10, Graduates
They may not be a profession as such but now over 30% of UK graduates are living and working overseas. The trend is growing in popularity as young people look to make their way in the world.
9, Teachers
Many teachers enquire about living overseas but often do not emigrate. They would love to work overseas but cannot afford the moves.
8, Media types
The UK is a world leader in developing talent from the screen to print and digital media. All areas of this profession still find the USA their dream home.
7, IT experts
In recent years IT professionals are heading to Waterloo in Ontario which is now named ‘Silicon valley north’ for the booming IT sector.
6, Dentist
While it is hard to secure a licence to practice many dentists prefer the standard of dentistry in the USA and Australia which are ahead of the UK in their technology and standards.
5, Accountants
New global standards of accounting are making it easier for accountants to practice across the globe. This is providing them new opportunities.

The UK produce some of the world’s leading chefs who are in high demand overseas. Better standards of living and working conditions is an alluring option for many.

The most common enquiry received in 2016 for emigration came from Dr’s and Nurses trained in the UK. While the NHS are recruiting from the Philippines they are losing home grown talent to the USA, Canada and Australia.
While emigration is not at the levels it was in 2008 there is now a increase in those wishing to leave the UK and start a new life overseas. It seems from the research conducted recently those most likely to emigrate are highly skilled professionals with young families.
