“hey what e-book are you reading there?”
When a fic idea pops into your head but you can't write a single paragraph
A New Air Bender
(Them after seeing you somehow ignore your HEAVILY BLEEDING injury)
In some random Earth Kingdom city
Tenzin, Jinora, Korra, Mako, Bolin, and Bumi were all sat in a park, wallowing in their repeated failure to get any new air benders found in this city to come to the Air Nation.
"So, now what?" Korra asks.
"We must move onto the next town, perhaps the air benders there will being willing to come with us," Tenzin says.
A chorus of growling stomachs, including Tenzin's own, interrupts their wallowing. They all agree to get lunch first before moving on. They all stand up and walk the crowded streets, mostly following Pabu's nose in their search for food. As they pass a line of shop windows someone bumps into Bumi and Bolin.
"I'm so sorry miss!" The voice says apologetically.
"It's alright," Bumi says.
"It's ok. I should've been watching where I was going. Are you alright?" Bolin asks, helping the person up.
"Yes, thank you," they say before walking away.
The group keeps moving, reaching a restaurant and enjoying their lunch. When the check comes around and Bumi reaches for his wallet, checking each and every pocket and nothing. He sweats in embarrassment.
"Don't worry guy, I've got this covered," Bolin says, only to find his money is gone too.
Tenzin and Jinora obviously have no money but thankfully Mako does. Once the bill is settled Bolin and Bumi retrace their steps, figuring they must've dropped their wallets somewhere along the way. As they search Bolin is the first to find his, laying right outside the restaurant. He picks it up and opens it to check if everything is still there and all his money is gone, as in every coin and bill that once called his wallet home is now nowhere to be found.
"Looks like ypu got pickpocketed," Mako says.
"Yep. Dang it, I should've been more careful," Bolin says, shoving his now empty wallet into his pocket.
Bumi finds his wallet back where he and Bolin were run into, finding it similarly lacking the money that was there earlier. The two sigh and accept their losses when they hear yelling.
"Get back here!" A man yells at a retreating figure.
Bolin and Bumi recognize the figure, the person who bumped into them earlier! They chase after the figure, which of course means the others have to follow. The figure ducks and weaves through alleys with the reflexes of kitten moth.
"Get back here!" Bumi yells.
The figure taunts him, cuasing him the chase more. This chase goes on until the figure runs into a brick wall at the end of the alley. The group forms a loss half circle and Bumi holds out his hand, asking for his and Bolin's money back. You turn away, saying that you earned it fair and square. Bumi asks again, but this time you don't say anything. Instead you push yourself off the ground and over the wall, something that shouldn't be possible given that the wall was as high as three Tenzins stacked on top of each other.
"Did they just air bend?" Bolin asks.
"I think so," Bumi says in slight awe.
Tenzin uses his own air bending to launch himself over the wall. He lands on the other side, Jinora tries to follow him but falls short, cutting herself before Bumi catches her. Tenzin yells that he'll be ok to the other, to which Korra yells she's coming with him and with ease she is also over the wall. Her and Tenzin walk through the crowded, filthy street on the other side of the wall. The houses are small and in disrepair, all squeezed together like anchovies. The people out on the streets all looked tired, as if they came from a long days work. They started at Korra and Tenzin, but they didn't say anything.
"Hi. Have you seen a person about this tall with a green top and dark pink pants? They took our friends money and we'd really like it backe," Korra asks a woman.
Before the woman can answer they spot the you from earlier, being dragged to them by the ear by an old lady with a smoking pipe. Once the old lady and you are in front of Korra and Tenzin you mumble out an apology.
"Well! Don't just stand there. Return their money!" The old lady yells.
You hand over the money and Korra takes it, putting it in her pockets. She thanks you when Tenzin asks your name.
"Reader," you tell him.
"Well, Reader. You have a gift, the gift of air bending," he says.
You laugh and ask him if he hit his head jumping the wall. Tenzin's eyes narrow as he keeps explaining, telling you that you are probably an air bender now and that you could be with other air benders on Air Temple Island, though you'd have no earthly possessions and would have to be vegetarian. You hold up your hand, causing him to stop talking.
"What if... What if a new air bender used to be a thief. Would you still take them?" You ask, looking up at him.
"Only if they were truly willing to try and change for the better," he says, a warm, father tone seeping into his voice.
"So, you have room for an ex thief?" You ask.
"Always," he says.
You lead them both out of your neck of the woods, telling them about how you ended up a thief due to the fact that you're an orphan with the closest family being your "granny". You also talk about your friend, community, and your life up to this point, even your admission that while you love your granny she's always harsh and you always wonder what it would be like to have a happy family, like the ones you see in the main town every day. By the time you three are on back with the others Korra wants to hug you and Tenzin is debating on adopting you into his and Pema's family.
"Here's your money back. Also, the kid wants to come back with us," Korra says, handing Bolin and Bumi their money back.
Bolin introduces himself to you, as does Bumi, Jinora, and Mako. You all walk back to the airship, with you asking Jinora what Air Temple Island is like and more about what it means to be an air bender, you even apologize for being the reason she got hurt in the first place.
"Don't worry. You didn't do anything wrong," she says.
"I mean it. If I didn't steal your friend and uncle's money you never would've tried jumping the wall. Though, if you want I can show you how to do it properly," you suggest.
"Absolutely not!" Tenzin says.
You and Jinora chuckle and swear you won't jump any walls. By the time you all reach the airship you feel a warmth in your chest. It's not the heat of shame, or the thunder of fear, it's softer than both of those. It's like a big hug from the inside out. Jinora asks if you're ok and you nod, because you're better than ok.
"So... Mr.Tenzin. Who else is gonna be there?" You ask.
Tenzin lists off everyone already on Air Temple Island and the warmth grows at the thought of a community held together by something more than the daily struggle, plus Jinora mentioned the sky bison and you really want to see one of those fluffy flying cows in person.
"I can't wait," you say.
Tenzin smiles at you, somwthing telling him you're going to be a great addition to the Air Nation.
I have two ideas for the reader legend of Korra.
Idea 1.
fire nation princess!reader
She's Iroh's sister or daughter. She is not a bender, but she studied martial arts like her grandmother Mai and Ty Lee. Most likely, she studied with them. She is sent to help the avatar in Republic City, where she meets the Avatar's team.
Idea 2.
Beifong!reader
She's Lin's only daughter. Lin raised her as a strong fighter and taught her everything she knows from childhood. She has grown up to be one of the strongest earth benders of her Generation, which is why she is compared to her which is why she is compared to her grandmother. When Amon appears in the city, she decides to help Korra.
I will write small sketches of my ideas and yours on these readers. You can offer me anything you want.

|| Summary; reader and Mako try to enjoy a quiet evening, until Korra shows up looking for something to do.
Requests open!
Started; November 9th
Finished; November 9th
~~~
Mako's been your boyfriend for about a month and honestly part of you was surprised the two of you were still a thing. You heard the stories about how his last relationships turned out; all you could do was hope he wouldn't pull the same crap with you. He seemed sweet enough, though. So you didn't have doubts.
It was one of those rare quiet evenings. The two of you lounging together on your couch. He had his arm wrapped around your shoulder while his other rested on the back of the couch. You were pretty happy being snuggled up to him, especially with him being a firebender. Mako felt like a personal heater. It was nice. Warm. Quiet.
Or at least, it was quiet. Until Korra practically kicked your door open with a massive grin across her face. "Hey, lovebirds! Let's hang out." Her fists were clenched at her chest as Asami walked in behind her. An apologetic look on her face.
"It was all I could do to get her to at least not break your door in." Asami sighed, hands on her hips as she glanced at her girlfriend. Who gave her a sheepish smile.
"Yeah, whatever." Korra rolled her eyes.
You and Mako had both been startled by the sudden break in. Mako had even gotten to his feet, ready to defend the two of you before realizing it was just Korra and Asami. His shoulders relaxed, though it was quickly replaced with an annoyed tension instead. "Haven't you heard of knocking?! What if we'd been- I don't know-!" He stuttered out, face flushed and you understood the meaning he was getting at. You couldn't help but laugh as you got to your feet, arms wrapped around his waist. Mako relaxed under your touch and placed a hand to your hip, his eyes softening as he looked at you.
"Been what-?" Korra had started to ask before realization dawned on her," ohhhh. Gross." She pretended to gag, Asami rolled her eyes and sighed again from beside her.
"Could you be anymore annoying?" And Mako's annoyance was back the moment Korra started talking again. You and Asami shared a look, both knowing how these two could get. Before Korra could retort Asami covered her hand with her mouth.
"Let's not start anything, alright?" She looked at her girlfriend, who simply huffed into her hand. But made no effort of moving.
"Korra if you're looking for something to do, how about you and I spar it out?" You grinned at the Avatar, who mirrored your grin. The tension slowly leaving the room. Mako looked relieved next to you for the change in topic. You squeezed his hand that was on your hip then moved away from his touch, heading outside with Korra. The other two following behind.
When everyone gets outside, it doesn't take long for the match to begin. Korra's always been on the more impulsive side when it comes to her fights, so it doesn't surprise you when she immediately throws a blast of fire in your direction. Luckily for you, your apartment is on the edge of the waterline. Meaning you have a hell of a lot of water at your disposal. And you're a pretty strong waterbender, so there's more than a few ways for you to use it.
You jump back and onto the railing that blocks people from the water. Without hesitation, you let yourself fall. Mako's eyes widen and he rushes forwards, only to see you explode upwards on a massive wave. His eyes widen as he stumbles back a bit. "Woah... remind me never to make them mad." Mako looks at Asami, who's trying not to laugh at his surprise.
Korra grins and jumps into the water with you," that's what I'm talking about!" She creates a wave of her own. And the two of you go head to head. Waves moving around, funnels of water launching from both of you. Trying to knock the other off their wave.
After many back and fourths, you finally manage to knock Korra off and throw your hands into the air in victory. "Yeah!!!"
Korra swims back up to the surface and looks at you with a smile," you totally have to teach me some time!" She never realized just how strong you were and frankly, neither did the other two. Mako looks a little nervous about it himself. Suddenly rethinking every decision he's ever made with you, praying that he hadn't upset you in one way or another.
You and Korra return to land, giving each other a fist bump before you walk over to your boyfriend. Completely drenched in water. Normally, he wouldn't let you hug him if you're covered in water. But after watching that fight he finds it hard to say no to you as your arms wrap around him. Giving him a kiss on the cheek. Yeah, he definitely needs to remember to stay in your good books.
What if in either atla or the leguend of korra, yn is the first to ever be able to bend 2 elements because of their parents being from different nations. I see yn bending elements that are direct opposite from eachother, water and fire or air and earth. Im focusing on water and fire.
With atla I see yn being part of the same tribe as katara and soka. Maybe yn's mom ran away from the fire nation because of what they were doing, ended up in the southern water tribe, and meets yns father. Later when the fire nation came, they didn't just kill katara and soka's mom, but both of yn's parents. Yn's parents made sure to hide yn's existence from them. The tribe made sure to take care of yn. Yn helps around as best as they can. They only use their fire to help the tribe. When zuko arrived at the southern tribe, he saw that yn can control water and fire when they were protecting their family. He decided to not only take the avatar, but also yn. Yn never lies about their abilities and is as up front about it as they can.
Got nothing with lok
can you do maybe a headcannon or a a oneshot with korra x earthbender who’s lin’s daughter and is part of the gang?? thank youuu have a good day :))
Red, again.
“My mom’s gonna kill me,” you muttered under your breath as you and Korra snuck into Asami’s house, “Are you one hundred percent sure that Mr.Sato is really hiding something?”
“Yes,” Korra answered again, “I know what I heard. That man is not innocent!”
You sighed and continued walking. Thanks to Korra’s firebending, you could see where you were stepping in the dark hallway of the giant house. Korra was pissed, to say the least. Not only did the rest of the avatar gang not believe her, but they also had come to an unspoken agreement not to talk to her.
Suddenly, you tripped. You were ready to hit the floor, but surprisingly, you never did. Looking up, you noticed Korra’s face was inches away from yours and then felt her arm around your waist. That must’ve been the reason you never hit the ground.
The fire had died out and now all there was left was you, Korra, and the darkness. For once in your life, you were thankful for the latter. If there was the smallest ray of light in the room, Korra would’ve noticed your blushing face and teased you without mercy.
“You move rather swiftly for someone who’s not an airbender,” you spoke, your breath hitting Korra’s face. Despite the lack of light, you could still see the mirror that were her deep, blue eyes.
“Yet,” Korra added almost immediately, not moving whatsoever, “and when I do become an airbender, I will blow your mind.”
You raised your eyebrow. “Blowing my mind as in impressing me?-” you stopped for a second, your breath hitching, “because let’s face it, you love impressing me.” Korra muttered a ‘not true’ before you continued, “Or blowing my mind in the sense of blowing my mind, yknow? Blood everywhere, me dead and stuff like that.”
“It’ll depend on my mood,” Korra shrugged.
Suddenly, you felt a finger pressing softly against your lips. You blinked and looked at Korra confused.
“Listen,” Korra said, pressing her lips on your ear. You thought you’d have to listen to whatever she was about to say next, but surely enough, upon hearing footsteps you understood, “Run.”
She grabbed your hand and led you to a room unknown to you, while you managed to create some fun obstacles for the guards -using the oh-so-expensive wooden floor-.
The room was small but had a window big enough to allow the moon’s light to spill all over the room, making it bright enough to see Korra- ehm, and the door from which you’d soon enough have to leave.
“You’re red,” Korra spoke upon laying her eyes on you, “terribly red.”
“Oh,” you spoke, placing your freezing hand on your burning cheek. “Must be from the rush of adrenaline I got from the running.”
“Pfft-” Korra said, walking closer and closer to you. You stepped back, hitting the wall. Now, just like before her face was inches away from yourS. Close enough for Korra to read what you could not say. Of course, your former sentence was a lie. You weren’t red from running. Having the police chief as your mother made you normalised to the thrill that running from someone, or getting chased gave normal people. The most it got out of you was a sweat and a giggle.
“We both know that’s a lie?”
There it was. You both now knew it was a lie.
“Do we?” You raised your eyebrow.
“Stop acting like-,” The words were caught in Korra’s throat and couldn’t find themselves. Days of frustration, driving each other crazy, flirty and sometimes explicit remarks were to come undone in the best way possible,
“Like what?” Just one more push.
“Like you don’t lo-”
But then-
—
You rubbed your eyes and upon opening them, found yourself in a bed, a hospital bed.
“Korra?” You managed to stutter and then your eyes opened wide. If you were in a hospital room, where was Korra? What exactly had happened?”
“Relax Y/n. Your little girlfriend is fine”
“Mom?”
Leaning against the door frame, was the woman who’d raised you- and was probably going to give you the scolding of a lifetime. Lin Beifong, aka your mom.
“I’m sorry,” you spoke, looking down at your lap.
Shaking her head, Lin made her way to you and wrapped her arms around you in a bone-crushing hug.
“Don’t ever do that again.” Lin tried to sound strong, but you could swear you heard her voice cracking.
“Wait a goddamn minute,” you spoke, “my mom doesn’t ‘let out a shaking voice’, or whatever authors on fanfics use to describe the sound you just let out.”
“Your mom just has been really worried about you,” said a soft, feminine voice. Asami, Bolin, and Mako walked into the room. The girl was holding a flower bouquet, a teddy bear, and a chocolate box.
“So have we!” Bolin shouted, running to you and also giving you a hug, which you gladly returned. His lips were stained with melted chocolate, so when he tried to kiss your forehead, you dodged.
“We bought you gifts,” said Asami, placing them in your lap and leaning down to hug you.
“Thanks, Asami,” you smiled at the girl.
“-but,” Mako added to Asami’s sentence, rubbing the back of his neck, “Bolin ate most of the chocolates.”
He was the last to give you a hug and well wishes- with a few scoldings in the middle, of course.
Bolin gasped and fastly laid his hand on his chest, “Mako!” Bolin called out his brother, looking at him in a you-betrayed-me way, “How can you even accuse me of such a thing!”
“Bolin,” you spoke softly, “The chocolate on your lips gives it away.”
“Do you know who else was very worried about you?” Ikki chimed in, walking in along with her siblings, who together with your friends answered,
“Korra.”
“Young love,” Tenzin, who walked in right after his kids, and Lin spoke simultaneously, and then glaring at each other for no apparent reason.
“Yes, yes,” you spoke, “you two must surely know all about young love.”
At the speed of light, their glares turned to you. “Oops,” you shrugged in response. “Anyways where’s Korra?”
“Not here,” Ikki spoke almost immediately, earning a slap on the back of her head from Jinora.
—
“Not here,” you muttered, staring at your reflection in the mirror of your room. After a quick check-up, you were dismissed from the hospital.
On the way home, Lin told you all about how Asami’s father was working with Amon and how he filled the room you and Korra were in with sleep gas. She also didn’t fail to add how Korra had gone crazy and almost killed the guards once you passed out. Luckily, the neighbors heard the screams, and the police -your mother and Tenzin- came to the rescue.
At the hospital, before you had woken up, Korra was bugging every doctor who walked in the hall, asking each of them about your condition. Even the thought made you let out a muffled squeal, covering your face with your hands. You could feel the blood rush into your cheeks, just like in that room. You could feel the rush of adrenaline that only Korra was able to give you.
“You’re red,”
You looked in the mirror and behind you spotted a figure. Across her lips danced a smirk.
Korra.
“You’re red, again.”
