While my brothers and sisters back at my other home -IRAQ- are protesting a corrupt government that they’ve never “fairly” voted for; I castes my vote here in my new home Canada, with a lot of mixed feelings on who you vote for. I walked in to the counter behind that barrier hiding a little piece of paper thinking of who do I really want to vote for, that responsibility of democracy that I’ve never felt before I became a Canadian citizen 5 years ago, is weighing me down, more that I actually expected. With all the research I’ve done trying to educate myself on who to vote for, it took me about 5 minutes reading the names on the list over and over again, then I did it, I highlighted that circle beside the name that I thought would serve me and my family more that the others. A lot of you might think that your vote wouldn’t change the outcome, I’d tell you this; IT WILL... A lot of you were fortunate to be borne in a free country where you have the luxury to chose your government, use that luxury! Go vote and stop bitching about taxes, health care and environment! If you want a change be part of it. You have 3 hours to be proud of yourself, be a proud Canadian. GO VOTE EH! #canadainelection2019 #vote #justfingvote #canada #vancouver https://www.instagram.com/p/B35eb_PHS3A/?igshid=4ry5yf1fadp5
