Standing on the bridge between the parking lot and the canal path yesterday

I went to the canal path. About a week until the foliage hits its peak but it’s already wonderful to walk there in the sun and wind.

One of my favorite spots along the canal path, a few pine trees by the old canal lock. If you go up under them (on the left in this picture) on a sunny day the scent and warmth of the pine needles underfoot rise. Breathing it in it relaxes every muscle in my body. Magical spot.
