ever since the boat had pulled away from the dock, it was clear how many people were in attendance for this party, especially considering how many were mixed in throughout the main room. trying to sidestep someone, he accidentally knocked shoulders with someone, his cup falling to the ground. “i’m terribly sorry - i didn’t get you, did i?” vis asked, already knowing that he’d feel awful if the drink that he dropped had ended up ruining someone else’s outfit in the midst of this whole thing. still, he looked at the other, offering an apologetic smile. “let me get you a new one, at least.” / @canaryxcry

already tugging at the collar of his shirt, roy still thought it was a miracle that he’d even managed to find clothes that didn’t have holes in them or looked as if he slept in them - or both. this was enough of a reminder as to why he should not make this type of night a common occurrence. unsure of where to stand or what to do, there was a breath of relief that washed over him. “i knew i recognized that voice,” he said as he approached where dinah was standing, a small smile on his face. “hi dinah.” / @canaryxcry

Finding out that Dinah was leaving town on some sort of assignment was bad enough but to find out from someone other than his own girlfriend? That was even harder. He could feel the anger coursing through him - he knew that whatever was happening in Washington DC was weird and off and needed to be seen to but did it have to be by her? It was dangerous and she shouldn’t go alone but he knew no one would listen to him.
He walked into the apartment, setting his stuff down by the door. “D?” He called out, heading towards the bedroom. “When were you going to tell me you were leaving?”
