my plans for a productive sunday at uni got a bit disrupted 😅😅 (for reference, the bridge i took these photos from is about 3 m high, and normally goes over an empty concrete drain, and the water was up to the bottom of the bridge and probably about 25 metres across at its widest point)
for the full story: i woke up at 6, went to the shops at 7 and had my whole week’s shop done and had ridden home (in very soft drizzle) by 8.... i ate breakfast, and just as i was ready to leave at about 8:30, it started pouring, way too much to ride in to uni, so i figured i’d wait it out. 2 hours later, my housemate woke up and told us to look out the front, where out street was totally flooded, and 2 cars were stuck in the water. (my housemate helped push them out and then we had our coffees on the porch and watched other idiots drive around the warning signs and into the flood 😅😅😅, and then went on a walk to see what the wetlands and drain were like and instead found the ganges basically 😂
gonna do my study here and then bake some cookies while i watch the gold medal game in the hockey, so not the worst unexpected cosy & cooped up sunday
