Candice theme v2.0
Hello everybody,
We’ve mentioned in some posts over the last few months that we were going to push and update for the Candice theme and we’ve got some great news, Candice v2.0 has been submitted to Tumblr. By usual standards the theme should be reviewed and pushed for all to install within 1-2 days!
Candice was one of our first themes so always holds a special place in our heart no matter how much time passes and the reason Candice has taken a while was because we knew we didn’t want to build on top of the current Candice theme which is now quite outdated in most aspects including code, design and overall site flow and experience. We wanted to completely rebuild it like a new theme from code to design however still retaining the core of what we love about Candice while bringing the design of Candice up to date and also a big one which is the code to really make for a solid design, build and ultimately a solid theme however you look at it.
At first glance there are some obvious differences, once you delve in a little deeper you will also notice the backend has changed where its quite apparent that we’ve embraced a simpler approach which we’ve adopted in a lot of our newer themes be it premium or free. Saying this does not mean there are only 5 customizable options, it more addresses usability and easy of customization as we’ve felt for a while when looking at Candice that the back end can be a lot more confusing to use compared to our newer themes. This also means some options are no longer available and some new options have been added in which you might not have seen before. There are quite a bit of changes so why not poke around and see for yourself and feel free to let us know what you like and dislike through our support page ( https://artisticinfluence.ticksy.com/ ).
If it happens that you prefer the older Candice, no issues, you can always revert back to a previous version of your blog explained by Tumblr in the linked post below:

Other than that, a quick run down of some of the main changes are listed below:
-Improved overall design
-Back end improvement
-More social feeds
-The latest premium version of infinite scroll(We’re proud to say Candice is our first theme with this implementation, you will soon find we update more themes with this same implementation but for now we’re really excited to see it on Candice theme) -Posts load faster -After scrolling through 10 iterations of loading posts using infinite scroll, if you now press refresh, the theme will remember where you left off at so you won’t need to click load more posts 10 times to get back to your last point. We were really excited about this one -Cleaner code and implementation makes for less tricky scenarios and better suited to handle larger post sizes in faster time
To see these changes and all the other changes which you’ll easily notice on page load, visit the demo page: http://candice-theme.tumblr.com/
The theme should be auto-installed on most blog using the Candice theme, however if it does not auto-install, the reason most likely would be because you’ve made alterations or added additional code to the original theme, this usually happens when you customize or add plugins to the theme like a music player for example. In this case you would need to manually install the theme by visiting the theme page: https://www.tumblr.com/theme/39621 . Make sure to make a copy of the older theme so you can copy/paste your plugins or code back into the newer version after installation.
NOTE: The theme will only be available once the update has been reviewed and approved on Tumblrs end which should be no longer than a day or 2, they’re pretty quick.
Hope you all enjoy Candice 2.0 and if there are any further questions, simply drop us a line via our support center: https://artisticinfluence.ticksy.com/
