Lucy/Adam | The Pedestrian Bridge/Nissan Stadium (at dusk)

It had been forever since Lucy and Adam had just had a date night together. It had seemed like adulthood had swooped in over night and taken away their childhood and all the fun that came with it. Bills had to be paid. Hours had to be worked. And the older they got, the more of a lull Lucy found herself falling into. Not to blame Adam at all. It was just what happened when couples fell out of their honeymoon phase.

But tonight was going to be different. She had found a nice grassy area, thrown out a blanket, and had a picnic dinner waiting in a basket with a bottle of wine. The Coheed and Cambria show at Nissan Stadium was about to start soon, and she had made Adam promise her that he would find her using Life360 and arrive at her destination at the time she had stated. It was a romantic evening she had planned for months and so help her if he had missed it, because of work, she was going to make the next week or so of his life a living hell. But all in the name of love, of course.

It had already been a few months since Mia and Noah had barely made it out alive in the Halloween attacks but Mia was still having difficulty moving around on most days. Her father, instead of showing up himself, had sent her old nanny to be by her side as she went through her recovery. She supposed she should be grateful that he’d even thought to do that, and she did care for the woman who practically raised her, but the girl was glad that Noah had stopped by that day for them to celebrate a little bit of the Christmas holidays before he was off to his grandmother’s house.

She took a sip of the hot cocoa she had in hand, leg propped up on the coffee table in front of her and crutches laying against the couch next to her, and she looked over at the man who was putting in a Christmas movie she’s never had the chance to watch. “You really are into this holiday, aren’t you? I honestly thought people only did stuff like this in the movies.” She could only remember one good Christmas she’d has in her lifetime, one before her mom left and her parents had decided to spend their vacation at home with her. It was probably the most perfect time she’d eve had in her life. “You sure I can’t put a little something in these cocoas to make them warm us up a little more?”

Everything had happened so fast at the Halloween party and for a little while everything was dark. No pain. No hurting. But a visit from Remy and Reid’s grandma that had passed years before and a visit from Dylan telling her to go back and that Hadley and Reid had needed her seemed to be the trick that brought her back into the land of the living.

With a throbbing head, Remy moaned out in pain as the light began to seep through the small openings in her eyelids. Everything was fuzzy, and she was having trouble focusing. For the longest time, she hadn’t felt anything and now it seemed like she was feeling everything. Eyes searching the room, she felt a slight inkling of panic set in, until she noticed Reid asleep in a nearby chair, “Reid...” It was a whisper, and she had closed her eyes once more to block out the light, at least until she could hear her brother’s voice again giving her a reason to open them once more.

It had been a couple of days since Taylor had opened her eyes and started to come out of the coma she had been living in for 12 years. To say life was different was a bit of an understatement. While the 29 year old was starting to regain basic functions, like moving on her own, speech had been something that seemed to be coming back to her slightly faster than anticipated. Her sentences were on the basic side, but she was communicating nonetheless; something the doctors didn’t think would be possible for her. However, everything else, including reintroducing her to the world was coming slowly. Overwhelming Taylor was the last thing her parents or the doctors had wanted to do.

Eyes shifting from the nurse that was leaving the room to the TV’s moving pictures, the woman finally let her eyes focus on the screen in front of her. It was the easiest way to get her acquainted with the outside world without actually throwing her into it head first, and at the moment, she was watching a rerun of Gossip Girl; a show that had started after she had slipped out of the world, but was brand new in her mind.

Engrossed in what she was watching, she had only noticed someone had entered the room after the door had shut behind them. Eyes going to the teenage girl standing in the room, Taylor felt a familiarity, but couldn’t quite place it. Confused, she spoke up, voice hoarse and words pieced together by what her brain was able to currently tell her, “I think...you have...the wrong room...” Her words were forced, slow, and held a lot of pauses, but it was a world of progress from just two days prior.

Letting her eyes remain on the teenager, she searched her mind trying to piece the familiarity together.

Fundraising events were the bane of Patrick Lancaster’s existence. Not only did he have to dress up in an uncomfortable tuxedo that made him feel so out of place but he also had to deal with his father and the obnoxious people who he was trying to impress. Now add in the fact that he had to bring a woman he had never really wanted to date in the first place to show her off to said obnoxious people and you got a combination that made for a very bad night. Schmoozing was not something that Patrick was made for but he had gotten much better at it throughout the years, that forced smile of his getting a lot of practice as he made his rounds through the grand ballroom that had been rented for the night, one arm wrapped around Ellie while he introduced her to one conservative after another. 

Another thing making the night nearly unbearable was seeing Brody walking around with that beautiful smile of his and not being able to really do much but say hello to him. His heart ached with every fleeting look he dared take as the night went on and Patrick almost allowed himself to sigh longingly after they had passed him on one of their rounds of the room...almost. He caught himself just in time, a good thing as his father had walked up behind him not two seconds later to introduce Patrick to an old colleague. Fake smile set on his lips, his eyes traveled past the older gentlemen to land on his blond lover before flitting away. The last thing he needed was his father seeing one of these looks and getting angry.

It was almost two hours into the event before Patrick could slip away from everyone and make his way to the bar for a moment alone. Whiskey in hand, he ran his other one over his face in an attempt to wipe away the stress piling up from the night and leaned back against the wall. “Just three more hours, Pat. You can do this.”

Ever since she was a small child, all Eleanor had wanted to do was help people. She had grown up watching her mother pursue a similar goal, and seeing how happy those in need became when they were bestowed a little kindness and generosity had encouraged Ellie to become the woman she was today. However, her causes that she supported were far from what her mother and father had ever imagined, but nonetheless, they were proud of their daughter. Even if it had meant her philanthropy had taken her to the States, and into the arms of a senator’s son.

“Patrick, have you seen my necklace? You know, the one I wear practically everyday? I took it off before showering, and I can’t recall where I placed it.” Ellie had taken on a case at work that had been her main focus for quite sometime and had left her foggy-brained when it came to the little things. It had involved a young boy and his overly religious parents who had gone to drastic measures to try and pray the gay out of him, and her heart was consumed for his well being, “Never mind! Found it!”

Grabbing the golden chain with the small charm attached to the end of it, Ellie made her way into the same room with her boyfriend in hopes of his assistance on latching it for her, “Are you excited for dinner with your father tonight?” Holding up the chain, a wide grin spread across the woman’s mouth lighting up her entire face.

Leia scrambled around her apartment looking for the stuff she needed to pack for the trip she was about leave on. She had been busy with work and had let time slip past her. In two days, she would be flying out to San Diego to see her family and, of course, for SDCC. There was just one thing she had to do first...tell Isaac he was going with her.

Once she had finished packing the basics of what she needed, it would be time to pack her Nebula costume for the convention. Of course, with Isaac at her side, she would be the best Nebula there. Pulling out a separate bag, she opened it and readied it. Now, just to tell Isaac.

Grabbing her phone from her dresser, she called Isaac, “Pick up the phone, Isaac. Pick up the bloody phone...” Voicemail would have to do. “Hey, I need you over here...like as soon as humanly possible...Oh! And bring the Nebula costume and make-up will ya? It’s important. Really important. Life or death important!” Hanging up the phone a wide grind spread across her face. She was just about to make his entire life.
