Everything had happened so fast at the Halloween party and for a little while everything was dark. No pain. No hurting. But a visit from Remy and Reid’s grandma that had passed years before and a visit from Dylan telling her to go back and that Hadley and Reid had needed her seemed to be the trick that brought her back into the land of the living.

With a throbbing head, Remy moaned out in pain as the light began to seep through the small openings in her eyelids. Everything was fuzzy, and she was having trouble focusing. For the longest time, she hadn’t felt anything and now it seemed like she was feeling everything. Eyes searching the room, she felt a slight inkling of panic set in, until she noticed Reid asleep in a nearby chair, “Reid...” It was a whisper, and she had closed her eyes once more to block out the light, at least until she could hear her brother’s voice again giving her a reason to open them once more.

She was tired. Her paws couldn’t carry her any further. She had been traveling for weeks; months...The young werecoyote wasn’t sure where she was. All she knew was that escaping Beacon Hills was eminent for her survival. Hunters had been hot on her trail for weeks, but somewhere miles back, she had lost them.

She was free and clear for the time being, and she could almost wag her tail in delight. However, the screeching tires coming to a halt and her limp furry body quickly stopped any celebrating from happening. Malia had just been struck by a car.

Laying motionless, except for the shallow breaths forcing her fractured rib cage to expand and decompress, the eighteen year old, in pure coyote form, whimpered hoping the pain would dissipate, and that she would heal soon. However, there hadn’t been any signs of relief coming anytime soon,and fear started to set in that the hunters had found her and were successfully going to end her.

☏ (For Reid)

She was out of food. Malia hated running out of food. And considering Nashville wasn’t exactly Beacon Hills, she had no clue where anything was. The one thing she did know how to use though, was a phone. She had called Stiles many times in the past when she wanted him to come and get her, bring her food, or just talk to her.

Picking up the cell phone, she navigated her way through the phone’s touch screen, before hearing ringing on the other end. Getting the voicemail prompt, Malia huffed in frustration.

“Why don’t you answer your phone? Stiles answers his phone when I call him. And he brings me stuff. Are you going to bring me more food? I looked in your fridge and all it had was gross stuff like broccoli and cold brew. Who even likes broccoli and cold brew? I want deer. And maybe chocolate. No, wait. I can’t eat chocolate. The last time I had it, I got sick. Ice cream then. Deer and ice cream. Oh, and where are you? Like every morning I wake up, you’ve been gone. Are you okay? Where’s that girl who yells at me all the time for walking around without any clothes on? Is she okay?”

She was dead set on continuing to complain to Reid until she heard the voicemail box say goodbye. Looking at the phone, Malia sighed.

“And at least when Stiles answers the phone, he doesn’t just hang up on me while I'm still talking. Rude.” Her brow was hard, before loosening up her gaze a bit. No, this wasn’t Beacon Hills and Reid wasn’t Stiles, but he was cute and he shared his bed with her, and anyone that shared their bed with her was okay in her book.
