~Ex Libris~: collage in candy wrapper, broken piano, and photographs (and a looooot of other stuff, swipe right for detail shots!) ::::: I think it's been good for me lately to have a artistic outlet that doesn't depend on me having to pre-plan or construct a story to impose upon it. It hasn't been a great year for me health-wise in some ways so I get the urge to get out of my own head quite a bit. Collage is something special in that you're taking objects in your environment and creating a narrative out of those elements - it's like an assembled still out of a movie, but from garbage. There's a story there but it's not one you have to shape or that necessarily has to make a lot of logical sense. So when I'm having a hard time with focusing on the series of steps needed to tell a story (let alone just plain focus), it's a relief to be more abstract in storytelling. Whats this one telling to all of you? I'll give you a hint in that the figure is my longtime character of The Intern ;) #collage #collageart #assemblageart #candywrappers #madefromgarbage #art #weirdart #washingtondc #dcart #acreativedc #fabric #ventart #experiment #stamps (at Washington D.C.) https://www.instagram.com/p/B6nxl-HB9wC/?igshid=runm9lxi488s
