i’ve seen your posts about river cane and they are very interesting! do you think swamp cane is the same thing as river cane, or are they different species? i was at the portland art museum today and they had a display of choctaw baskets woven with swamp cane

Yes! I'm not familiar with the term "swamp cane," they could be river cane (Arundinaria gigantea) or switch cane (Arundinaria tecta) but they are sister species and both are our much beloved American bamboo :)

Stuff I like about my cane:DDD

Takes the pain off my left leg

makes me a distinguished gentleman

Very figitable (spinning the top, tossing it between my hands, adjusting the height)

I can point at stuff

I can stick it into holes for no reason

I can poke stuff with it

Everyday I go out with it I feel like I'm doing a social experiment observing how people treat me if I have the cane or not
