We hiked a little over 6 miles at Gales Creek with Erin, Josh, and Mesa of canismirabilis. Unfortunately, Ivan decided today was a great day to be especially badly behaved. This was our first time meeting Mesa and she is super sweet, energetic and playful! She wanted to play with Ivan really badly but Ivan was being a jerk to her for the first half of the hike. About halfway through he decided that maybe she was actually really fun and that he wanted to interact with her, but in his usual loud clumsy oafish way. Luckily Mesa seems to be totally unflappable, she kept trying to get him to lighten up and play right up til we got back to the car. I’m hoping next time they meet Ivan will be nicer to her. I only got a couple of pictures today since I was preoccupied with keeping Ivan under control, but it was a nice hike that alternated between light rain, sunbreaks, and even some hail.
