Sleep overs with her dearest friend were not that rare of a sight, especially before he disappeared. And since he was finally back from being gone for so long, Rosie had insisted. After a long night of eating, drinking, laughing, gossiping, they both had tired each other other out. Turning off the lights, they settled into their separate beds. Of course Rosie had a bed implemented in her room for him! He is her dearest, and he deserved it. There was no may she was going to make him sleep on the couch, after all! The night was peaceful and silent, they both slept relatively easily. However, they were both very light sleepers, as they were naturally on guard for threats. Which is why Rosie's eyes widened as soon as she heard a semi loud radio static noise, accompanied by the creak of the bed as alastor sat up straight, and his panting noises. Rosie sat up as soon as she heard it, and she quickly turned on the night light on the nightstand between their beds. "Sweetie..?" She said in a semi sleepy voice, concerned. He was sweating, and his smile was strained- too strained, even for Rosie to see. "Are you alright my dear..? I'll go get you some water.." she threw off the blanket and got up, instantly being hit with the cold. But it's alright. Alastor is worth freezing for.
THEIR NIGHT WENT AS ANYONE COULD HAVE DREAMED FOR, a commodity earned after years of separation. the two of them didn't waste what time that they had together, spending it gossiping & sharing snacks, just as good friends would do. he had no reservations staying over at her place, seeing as she made him up a proper room to be there. he would have no way of rejecting her offer. it wasn't often that ALASTOR laid down for sleep, but when ROSIE was comfortable enough to do so, he would give it a shot as well. curling up in the blankets that she gave him so comfortably.
the night started off fine, until the nightmares hit him. flashbacks of his previous life, all hitting him like a train. his breathing turned erratic in his sleep, the sounds of static emitting from him immediately. with a loud crackle, he sat up straight in bed. huffing, he clutched his hand to his chest. the sounds seemed to have roused ROSIE, she was immediately at his side. despite it all, he still wore a smile on his face. albeit straining his features in an uncomfortable way. he was forcing it. that much was obvious from looking at him. he could hear her calling out to him, but it sounded faint in his haze. hating the act of waking up so suddenly, he was still seeing static in his vision, his voice not coming out as clearly as he would have liked it. ❝ i apologize for the fright. i'm alright, my dear. ❞ he tells her, his voice still shaky with sleep & static. it was difficult for him to speak without sounding as if he had just woken up from a bad dream. she was eager to get him a glass of water. when it was placed in his hands, he drank from it readily, anything to calm his nerves. it was so easy for her to be vulnerable around him, but he was so frightened of doing the same in return. ❝ i woke you, it's truly my bad. ❞ he covers up quickly, the glass still mere inches from his lips.
