He needed to blow off some steam. Things had stalemated in Anya’s training to become the Grand Duchess, and it was just getting more and more frustrating by the day. They had to make progress soon or they’d never make it out. Vlad was doing his best to keep Anya and Dmitry from biting each other’s heads off, which was a difficult enough task as it was. That, and Dmitry didn’t think he could dance another step.
Today, they had decided to take a break to recharge a bit. Perhaps things would go better tomorrow. Dmitry sat against a wall, messing with the music box he had purchased not long ago. He was still unable to open it, but it was nice to have something to do with his hands.
He couldn’t help but think about all they had done so far, and how it would all be in vain if they didn’t make more progress sooner rather than later. He considered seeking out some company that wasn’t Vlad or Anya. But who would he seek out? He didn’t have any friends aside from Vlad and Anya (if he could even consider her a friend at this point). Oh well, he thought bitterly. Maybe I’ll just go back and see what Vlad is up to.
