Because is canon, that in the Danganverse, the afterlife exists, i think that the Class 79's dead students should kick Junko's ass, because the Class 79's Killing Game was just her plan to get rid of Utsuro, because he (and his luck) wasn't of any more use for her.

They can get to kick Junko’s ass. As a treat.

I also feel like Teruya, who had to deal with all of the despair mess and basically all of the tragedy should also get to kick her ass AND recite 999 times Bee Movie script in order to bring her her most dread thing: boredom.

And oof, would that hurt. In a way, class 79th was just… collateral damage to Junko, who only had ….uhhhhh. interest (?) in her own class and used DR2 class as…weapons. So, pretty much class 79th would be just a bunch of “whos” to her.

Or maybe if everyone is in the same movie theater, then everybody gets to boo and throws tomatos at her.

It is honestly ironic that the best way to make her suffer would be to not even attack her but to make her suffer the most boring situation possible.

So what I am saying is that everyone should just, leave her at the movie theater, and get to pick a terrible movie to make her watch it. Repeats are welcome.

I was thinking about how the class 77 will react to Yuki!Sora. I believe that some of them will think that he's Akane (Beacuse, he's in her body), but Hajime/Izuru (With the talents he has as the "Ultimate Hope (Or, as i call it, "Ultimate Ultimate")) discovers that, even if the body is Akane's, the mind is not.

Things to consider: How they would find Yuki; If they thought Akane and Utsuro were already dead/ If they even knew that they existed/

I usually lean towards they thinking both Akane and Utsuro were already dead, or perhaps not precisely them as individuals, but like, the external ultimade despair pair (their title) were dead, and thus not searching.

I like to imagine that they would become aware of Akane being alive("alive") when they caught wind of news of the Kisaragi Foundation, as well as the bizarre events surrounding them (ie: bridge collapsing)

As for going to find Yuki, i think that would be... hard perhaps. If Yuki didnt want to be found then i can see a scooby-doo-like chase where Yuki not knowing keeps avoiding them by sheer luck.

As for finding Yuki though, i think that since this process (heh) would have a lot of info gathering, they would end up slowly realizing that Yuki did more “good actions” then bad. Like, in a similar way the Voids tracked Utsuro, i imagine that they would start to realize a pattern of Yuki being around places where miracles/lifes getting saved happen.

So, while some people might still be “hmmmm dont trust” about him, i think most of them would be open to him. Like, in a neutral way. Ie: We wont have many preconceived notions, since you might be actually helping people, but if turns out this was only for a cover, your ass is gonna get kicked.

As for meeting Yuki... Oh ... so many possibilities in what could happen and what kind of interactions would happen.

I feel like there would also be an misunderstanding in the beginning, where they think its actually Akane, trying to redeem herself as a former despair. Oh, I also wonder what he would think on the 77th Class, since last he heard, they were actually still ultimade despairs.

Yuki, fists clenching: Time to check if those Divine Luck powers are actually that OP.

There would be a lot of wariness at first i think. In fact, maybe the true reason the class is able to find Yuki, is that Yuki himself allowed since he saw as an opportunity to arrest the other despairs and stop atrocities in some way.

Then after an epic drama of misunderstandings, he realizes they are actually not despairs, and only using it as cover to stop other despairs.

Yuki: I will defeat you despairs!!

I feel like Yuki!Sora and Hajizuru would be like *spiderman pointing meme* over “normal person that wished so hard to be special BUT OH MY GOD WHAT THE FUCK NOT LIKE THAT UNIVERSE”. And. “Wait YOU too had an AI friend/shaped you as a person, that went against their code and DIED in order for you to live??”. And “So now you want to go through atonament and use your powers to save lifes”. And “so you also had another consciousness of someone else in your head huh”.

Dang, i really want to write an interaction between Komaeda and Yuki but i am unsure on how it would be.

I can see them talking and relating to each other’s luck. Perhaps while Komaeda would realize Divine Luck was mostly good and an amazing hope, it also had drawbacks in both isolation aspect and that if it was gifted to someone it would eventually deteriorate. 

An hope speech would likely get inserted there somewhere but i can see it either as uplifting or

Imposter and Yuki talking and Yuki talking about his difficulties with the new body, and like, Imposter helping him as someone that, like relates to identity crises, and they chatting about gender and idsajoadjodasj yeah. Let them bond!!

I feel like there are so many possibilities its pretty fun to think through.

I was bored, and I thought about how the main trios on both Canon games and the Another series share the same roles:

The Main Character: Makoto, Hajime, Shuichi, "Yuki" and Sora.

The Rival, who the fans always ship with the Main Character: Byakuya, Nagito, Kokichi, Tsurugi and Shobai.

The Canon Romantic Interest, who is important to the plot in some way: Kyoko, Chiaki, Kaede, Akane and Yuki/Yoruko (Those two seem to share that role)

There are a lot of parallels / easter eggs in Another that follow the canon structure, one other example being that both Another 2 and DR2 feature a beach party house that is instrumental on the murder.

Another little shout out is, I think, on Yuri design making a call back to Nagito. Notably both of them get a CG with swirly gray x white x black eye, and both beg to be killed and that they would aid a killer (through their purposes are different).

Notably, as a series Danganronpa has its archetypes (MC, Implied LI, The double murder, masterminds, Rival, Muscle characters cant catch a break , Black white mascots, The Idiot^tm, the ???, the AHOGE and each game tries to take its own spin on it.

So it is normal to fangans to take those types and make their own spins on it, which is really cool, and can give way to really creative ideas while keeping up the charm! As well as adding their own new character types.

I do think I would add Rei to the Rival list, since… she mirros a lot Byakuya, and is both a force of disturbance to the “peace” of the students (albeit different from Tsurugi), constantly pokes holes on the “trust each other” mindset, challenges Yuuki (MC) and then is able to develop through the story and be an ally and dear friend to the students (in a similar way Byakuya does).

Interestingly, it is really fun how Another1 takes the Ahoge/MC protagonist archeotype and uses it as a hint to the viewer. A hint that "something is off" from Yuuki first appearance, due to him lacking an Ahoge. And said hint also comes back later in chapter 6, where during the investigation, the photo of the true Yuki used in the registration, has an ahoge while Yuuki doesnt, sinalizing Yuuki position as a fake / false hero.

Further, it is interesting that while Yuuki lacks an ahoge, there is a person in the class who does have it. Tsurugi. His ahoge is tiny, but it is there, which i think was purposeful in a way, in order to again point out something is off with Yuuki (due to someone else having it). Interestingly as well, Linuj flips the arc you would expect for the ahoge bearer, where Tsurugi ends up sinking in despair (ultimadely, i think he is a misture of both archeotypes, with one inversed, but he truly is the built as "the Rival" one)

Overall, I find it really neat to see how they contrast and parallel each other.

Right now, I think that Yamato and Mukuro have some similarities in their story roles:

-The both of them only remain alive for a chapter, being killed by the middle of the chapter (Mukuro is executed by Monokuma while disguised as Junko, while Yamato is killed by a Monokuma in a plan to get rid of both him and Mikako).

-Their deaths are their respective games' 5th case, with their bodies being used by the mastermind to get rid of someone between the survivors that could jeopardize the killing game (Kyoko and Mikako).

-Even after their deaths, their presence in their respective classes ends being a factor in the mastermind's downfall (The combination of the pre-tragedy photos and Mukuro's body's state makes Makoto realize that Mukuro was disguised as Junko while Junko was masterminding the entire thing, while Yamato's Alter Ego (With the help of Yuuki unknowingly using the Divine Luck) ends helping the survivors with beating Utsuro and escaping the collapsing building)

Interesting!

Also a factor that you mentioned and I think would be worth another bullet point, is that they both get killed by the mastermind without provocation (as in not involved in a case / attempt / ongoing murder). Monokuma kills Mukuro so that everyone realizes the killing game is real (+ Junko getting a despair high over Mukuro feeling betrayed). Meanwhile, Monokuma kills Yamato so that he gets rid of the only people who know the truth.

It is also interesting the way they (Mukuro as the 16th student / Yamato through the Kisaragi Foundation) are an ongoing mystery through several chapters of the game (Kirigiri investigation on the Despair duo increasingly giving hints and facts of Mukuro / The students finding hints of the Kisaragi Foundation and Yamato existence and realizing they might be in some way connected to the killing game.

Also the way that the person who does know the truth in each case is… reversed in a way (Junko, hides and doesn’t participate in the killing game / Mikako is participating in the killing game and tries to speak but literally cant due to the brainchip)

Overall they both are the secondary mystery of the game. And both are, in a way red herrings. Kyoko /thinks/ that Mukuro would be orchetrasting the killing game and we assume it might be her that was the one who threated and kicked Makoto head. The students (Mikako aside) suspect that Yamato may be involved or orchestrating the killing game given all the hints he exists. Both of course have hints that they aren’t the mastermind.

There are also another similarities with interesting contrasts:

They both are part of a sibling duo; however one duo wants the killing game and despair while the other advocates for hope and stopping the killing game.

Probably a coincidence, but it is also interesting that one’s talent is primarily about destruction (Soldier + Mukuro past) while the other is about creation and the protection that comes with it (Inventor + his inventions saving life). And also how each talent had a great potential to do the opposite (ie Soldier, protection in Mukuro using her talents to protect her classmates / Inventor, destruction).

I was watching a video copilation of all the deaths in Danganronpa and thought that Monaca from UDG and Mikado from SDRA2 had similar motivations for being the masterminds of their respective games: Transform one of the main characters into a copy of a previous mastermind, via shoving a lot of trauma on them (But their reasons for doing it are pretty different, Mikado wanted the Divine Luck, Monaca wanted to taunt Makoto)

I will divide the answer in two segments.

First: Yes, Mikado and Monaca are unique masterminds when interposed against the others, as they are the masterminds whose goals involve ressurecting an individual inside an different person by use of trauma, instead of the masterminds whose goals are Despair for Despair's sake(with, of course, every single mastermind having their own unique perspectives in it (not being bored, to transfer bodies, to die, for love of danganronpa)).

They are also the Masterminds whose narrative acknowledges them from the beginning(Mikado)/Middle(Monaca), and so gives time to develop them in story, showing us very much of their operation method, thinking process, and etc. Which is different from all the others, that have only one chapter to show themselves on story on the role as masterminds.

I find that that makes them very compelling as Masterminds, and builds of their threat level very well.

Second: I am not sure if I agree regarding the Monaca part. (I could be misreading/understand and, of course, the ask limit of words is too tiny)

Its been a long time since I last saw Despair Girls (so take this with a grain of salt), but the reason why Monaca chose to "revive" Junko on Komaru always stroke me as being similar to the way Mikado used Yuki Maeda to revive Utsuro.

Mikado needed someone to fulfill a requeriment, ie having the same brain structure that Utsuro had, and so thats why he had to pick Yuki. Requirements needed to be fullfilled in order for the goal to work.

Monaca, in order to revive/create a Ultimade Despair that would make Junko proud and cause the same impact she did, needed said person to, when they revealed themselfes as a despair, cause an extreme reaction of despair on the outside world.

I think she specifically chose Komaru, less because to spite Makoto(although I agree a good amount of her part was spite!) and more because, symbolically speaking, having the sister of the Ultimade Hope became a Ultimade Despair (by killing off an huge amount of children) would cause an higher amount of distress/despair in the world then... say... the sibling of an Ultimade Swimmer.

If the sister of the Ultimade Hope is an Ultimade Despair that caused such an slaughter to happen, then how can they trust the Ultimade Hope? If the sister of the Ultimade Hope became an Ultimade Despair, then something is off, how can the Ultimade Hope not save their own sister?

Komaeda also gave me that vibe. He overfocused on Komaru (even though, theorically Toko was someone who faced and helped to defeat Junko, she was right there when Junko died), because her brother was the Ultimade Hope.

Basically if Monaca had to choose between one person to be the linchpin of her plan, she would pick the one who would cause the most despair in the world, not exactly the one who would spite the most Makoto. So, if Makoto had not been acclaimed as the Ultimade Hope and say Kyoko was, Monaca would have used Komaru in a way to torture Makoto, but not necessarily as the vessel for Junko essence.

Spiting Makoto was an incredible bonus to Monaca, thought.
