I haven't posted anything about my hometown on here yet but it saddens me deeply to know that the four Marines and 1 Sailor were killed and 2 others were wounded. I'm very grateful for people like them that put their lives on the line for people like us that probably wouldn't on a normal basis. I can honestly say that in a situation like that, I would NOT be running into the gunfire but away from it and THAT is the very reason I admire and respect you, ALL of you. THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO/HAVE DONE/WILL DO FOR ALL OF US. You are underestimated all the time and deserve so much more praise than you ever receive. And to the families of these brave men and women, thank you for being brave enough to send them out to us every day so that they may protect us and make sure that we are safe. You are not thanked enough either. To those that have lost loved ones, I am deeply sorry, but I am also grateful for your loved one's sacrifice for me and my loved ones so that we may be safe. To those lost most recently in my hometown, thank you for your service, whether it be 1 year of service or 30 years. You have still served this country honorably and I am grateful for that, along with many others. I may not have known you but your loss has pierced my heart knowing that you died so innocently for your country. And you did die for your country. That man could have chosen anyone but he chose to go after our military. And I apologize that it had to be you. You are honorable men. Thank you. Rest in Peace •Lance Cpl.
