February 25, 1720 - Investment Opportunity: A New Method for Making Salt
By Vertue of Letters Patent of her late Majesty Queen Ann, A new Invention for making Salt in all Parts of England, by a new Method, far more expeditious and at less Expence than any yet known. Subscriptions will be taken for buying Parts or Shares of the said Patent, which are 1100 in Number, at 1000l. each Share, at Garraway’s Coffee-house, To morrow the 26th Inst, at 11 in the Forenoon, where Books will be opened, and the Money being 6s. per Cent. is to be paid to Mess. Long and Bland, Bankers in Lombard-street, who will give accountable Receipts for the same, excepting 1s. per Cent. which will not fully reimburse the Charges of the Patent &c. where Proposals will be given. No Person to subscribe for more than 6 Shares. Note, the Major part, if not all, of the 1 per Cent. shall be return’d by M. Long and Bland on Demand. N.B. This being grounded on Royal Authority, and in all its Parts agreeable to Law and Justice, and advantageous to the Publick, ’tis presumed can’t fail of extraordinary Encouragement.
