"I had a foolish desire to burst into tears. For the first time I’d realized how all these people loathed me."
how Meursault be feeling after that canto announcement
thinking about how in the intervallo art all the background characters have their gazes lowered to the ground and everyone else is looking left or right except Kim (looking away from us) and Meursault (looking straight at us) and then in the canto art all the people are still looking at the ground, but all facing the viewer this time, and the the BIG scary eyes are all peeping through holes in reality itself (something is wrong)
also, the only color in n corp comes from chromatic aberration (something is VERY wrong) and that little bit on the side that is probably the ocean but looks like it could also be torn paper (which is also a hallucination probably)
Meursault's backstory perplexes. I have a theory that I dont exactly LIKE but I want to get it out there because i like explaining my thought process. This is going to be probably dumb and stupid and I dont even believe in it myself but dont pierce me with a nail and hammer for this pretty please!! I know not how canned experience works but I assume it would involve requiring someone to have that knowledge first, before it is somehow extracted or taken from that person. This is important, because I feel like Meursault was somehow involved in that. He talks about having gone to clubs, smoking and then quitting smoking, learning many different things and doing things that are considered right and wrong. He also knows how distortion feels, too. This, combined with his photographic memory ( recall the canto IV scene ) made me wonder if he was the source of some of the canned experience. His EGO and the themes of being watched also kinda play into this. His experiences are being consumed by others for them to see how it feels, so he and his experiences and actions are consantly under surveilance. Obviously, this theory is probably wrong, too similar to another sinner, doesn't take MANY things into account ( like Maman ) and is overall just for fun :D
Predictions for Canto X:
Meursault manifests E.G.O
Demian appears and says some vague shit about sheep.
he's next
Quick, pick a final boss for Canto X
Who's it gonna be?
The Chaplain
Raymond
The Arab
The Prosecutor
Marie?
Celesté???
Project Moon OC
Meursault himself
Other (tell me?)
Canto 9 and Canto 10 are gonna both have themes of motherhood btw. That's my prediction
