Saw your tags, and yes, that's baby Carl curling around his left ear *sobs*
Yes, I feel like a proper Carl connoisseur now! (And Carl is doing such a good job, fingers crossed Harry leaves him to his work!!)

i have this on a mug.
this seems exactly right as a mug is such a regular and orderly sort of thing!
cantquitu replied to your post “I can't believe someone in their "early 30s" would spend time on...”
Poor child honestly thinks people in their early 30s can't run blogs!
I will say that I constantly think "how can they do this at their age??” about the older larries when they do shit like.... like tagging Armstrong in tweets getting mad at him for doing a livestream that was literally him asking people to be nicer because he tagged Eleanor in an instagram pic and Larries attacked them both over it. I don’t know anything about that blogger but I think someone said they’re an adult? And they got super offended and defensive about Armstrong reading their shitty tweets out and just saying “Why? Why are you tweeting me that?”
They do shit like that all the time and it just boggles my mind that an adult wouldn’t have the self control and awareness to know not to tag people in your dumbass nasty tweets about them. Not to make posts making fun of Briana’s face or hair. Not to be careful about sending their thousands of followers to attack a teenager who said something they didn’t like. And since that anon apparently can’t tell the difference between calling out people who leave nasty comments just for tagging Eleanor in a pic, and BEING the people who leave those nasty comments, I agree with that anon to the extent that there are things that adults should know better than to do.
Like, it drives me crazy when older Larries use their position of authority to manipulate their younger followers, like pretending to have knowledge about the music industry or whatever. But it also drives me crazy when they act like such children. It’s absolutely wild how inappropriate, immature, and cruel some of their behavior is.
I’ve discussed this before, but the Larrie community puts a lot of emphasis on NEVER ALLOWING CRITICISM OF THEMSELVES. Like they’ll push back as much against the suggestion that fans are behaving badly as they will against proof that Larry isn’t real. And they come up with all sorts of twisted justifications for it - that larries are “paying [someone’s] bills” or “fighting for gay rights” somehow, that they’re the ones being attacked, that the victims of their harassment are the most evil people ever, that louis’s sisters should know to never say anything online or that they just want attention - whatever it is to prevent them from having to consider their behavior.
Now it’s a part of their sort of identity as a community - they’re a united front who will justify each other’s behavior and have convinced themselves that no one has the right to criticize them. So I feel like for some of them, having this space where they’ve allowed themselves to behave however they want is a big part of the draw and one of the things that makes it so hard for them to let it go.
... that got off topic but anyway I guess my point is that obviously I think adults have a place in fandom, but I do have higher expectations for our behavior!!!

Just heard my aunt humming something that sounded like the chorus of SOTT while making coffee in the kitchen. I asked her straight out if she was humming Harry Styles and she said "I love Harry. I bought his album and someone has stolen it and I WILL TRACK THEM DOWN!!!" (she punched the air with her spoon for emphasis, I believe her) "I have to make do with Spotify for now...". #makemoreharries I claim it as my victory cos I made Harries out of her teenage daughters
cantquitu replied to your post “all you cat loving harries can suck it!! harry loves dogs and chickens...”
HOW DARE YOU!!!!?????!!!!!!
SUCK IT
cantquitu replied to your post “This fandom is very good at analyzing comments and making them into...”
Lol that was a classic example. My brother wears his hair in a man bun and he was less insulted when his girlfriend and our mother announced at his birthday dinner that they hated his man bun than those fans were on behalf of Harry
There were people writing headcannons about how hurt and angry Harry would be hearing that Niall had said that. Fantasizing that a grown ass man was devastated because his bandmate isn’t a huge fan of a manbun. I saw mutuals at war.
It was so intense I decided I’d never share my thoughts about manbuns in a public space.
cantquitu
me too! You're right, it would be just AWFUL if Larries kept this message to themselves...I'm sure the last thing they want is to use this video solely for self-soothing instead of using it as a catalyst to Free Them and other potential future victims....
EXACTLY! I mean, it seems to me that if Louis’s messaging is so obvious, it would be CRIMINAL for us to shirk our responsibility to bring that message to the media now that we’re aware of it. We would be no better than those actors and actresses and industry accomplices who knew about HW and did and said nothing, risked nothing, by not publicizing what he’d done.
It seems to me that the only conscionable thing to do is to make this as visible as possible, make it impossible for the media to ignore what Louis is screaming out loud to tell us through this lyric video. We gotta make this happen, my friends.
