Literally Just finished Chilling adventures of Sabrina, apparently they took a page out of the CWS “book of shitty afterlife endings.” So here are some questions:
1) why not use the resurrection soil to bring Sabrina back? It’s been established since episode 1 what it can do, so why not now?
2) why give Zelda a tool to summon Mambo Marie/Baron Samedi, Loa of the dead, who is seen on screen as being able to resurrect the dead (vinegar Tom) and not use it??? What was the point of changing Mambo Marie’s identity to a Loa at all if they didn’t plan on bringing it up again?
3) I’m not sure if it’s clear to anyone else but to me, The Trinket Man was clearly God. With his seemingly endless and useful case of trinkets that helped out Sabrina and co. when nothing else would, there is no way he wasnt the omniscient God of this universe who tried to interfere without interfering. Even if he wasn’t God, The trinket man was indeed some kind of magical, benevolent creature. The man behind the curtain in the emerald city of greendale. So Why have him walk around with a box of Deus Ex Machinas and literal plot devices without him having something in his “black bag” to bring our Dorothy back home to OZ?
4) what happened to the Endless? Sabrina Morningstar died when she came through the mirror (of what? Who knows!) but she brought the Endless with her and there was no mention of it again. It wasn’t with the other horrors when Sabrina asked which of them could help her kill the void. it wasn’t with the Fright Club when they brought the horrors through the void. They established it couldn’t die in episode 7 Except by the void who didn’t get to devour it because they escaped through the mirror. So where was the stuffed cat? It could re-write reality. Why didn’t he, as a favor to the one that saved him from the void, pay her back by writing that she survived?
5) Hecate was standing RIGHT there, and didn’t step in?????? Didn’t do shit? Why show her? Why have Hilda point her out to Zelda, as a comfort that Sabrina was going to be ok, to have her do nothing? What.... To escort Sabrina to the afterlife??? In myth she is literally a goddess of Necromancy (among a vast amount of other things). Why not use her to bring her back?
6) the body that died with the sacrifice was that of Sabrina morningstar. Who was ALREADY dead. Sabrina spellmans soul was in it but it wasn’t her body. Sabrina spellmans body had JUST been brought back from the frozen nothing of space by Nick. It was preserved, Being that it FROZE IN SPACE. Why didn’t they just magic sabrinas soul back into her rightful body and let morningstars body rest like it was meant to?
If I tried hard enough I could think of more ways that they could have ended the show but these are my immediate thoughts and questions after watching the finale. They gave poor Sabrina the shitty Dean Winchester story ending except she got to see her love again after his death. I think I’m taking a break from scripted shows and just watching YouTube videos for the next month or so.
