Trinkets by ©Laura Quick
I found a cedar box of trinkets I’d completely forgotten about, that I brought back from my folks house when my mom died in 2010.
A cool cap gun and an unopened roll of caps
A Panama and Pacific International Expedition* entrance button from the opening day - February 20,1915
A satin souvenir pillow for the opening day of the Golde Gate Bridge May 27, 1937
One crocheted baby bootie in salmon colored thread
Curiously, a bottle “for water” from Boston, MA. I’m guessing this might be from a kids watercolor set perhaps?
P.S. The Panama–Pacific International Exposition was a world's fair held in San Francisco, California, U.S., from February 20 to December 4, 1915. Its stated purpose was to celebrate the completion of the Panama Canal, but it was widely seen in the city as an opportunity to showcase its recovery from the 1906 earthquake.
P.S.S. Finding things like this is one of the things that gives me good butterflies.
