2D
Site Specific/Installation
Conceptual
Performance
Sculpture
Ready Made
Being inspired by your groups objects come up with some ideas for both “ways of working”. A Theme should come from your ideas e.g. Spoon (as object), Conceptual (as way of working). Spoon can link to curves, then to curves of a woman, hiding the body with spoons which would relate to the idea how it is more likely for a woman to have to hide her body. Or could be inspired by how to spoon moulds with the bodies curves.
Half inside, Half Outside (still in the same groups)
Using the ideas you came up with, start creating them, DON’T BE PRECIOUS!!
Aiming to make one piece of work for one “way of working”, if you can make more then do so.
Swap Half Inside, Half Outside. (same groups)
Using the ideas you came up with, start creating them, DON’T BE PRECIOUS!!
Aiming to make one piece of work for the other “way of working” you were given, if you can make more then do so.
Picking two of your creations chose one to develop.
How could you improve the work? What could be done better? Could it have a deeper meaning? What is your ideal situation for this piece? Could be be presented in a different place, would that link to the meaning more? Think about presentation for Friday’s exhibition!
Mind Map thinking about those questions, Second Years will possibly have to help a little bit with the idea of developing.
Can be developed into any way of working including a digital piece.
For this task we want you to be taken outside of your comfort zone as that is something you will be doing all year. DON’T BE PRECIOUS, you can’t always make amazing pieces of artwork and a good way of working is to churn out as much ideas as possible in a physical form as it will allow you to see what works best and what doesn’t.
Put all work in one space but maybe leave a note saying how you want it presented!
Free to GO!
Can Second Years Stay back a bit longer so we can organise Thursday all together!
