Watching a New Zealand fur seal pup.
Last two stragglers wander across the beach.
The New Zealand fur seal is actually a sea lion having a pointed nose, white whiskers and two layers of dark brown fur. They are quite rare and rather shy compared to their Galapagos cousins.
The blind gives us a viewing area where we can watch and not disturb the penguins. Note the picture of penguin tracks.
Watching the New Zealand fur seal have a snooze. He’s only a teenager so needs his sleep.
Our first sighting of the yellow-eyed penguin. We were there in the evening as they come up out of the water to find their nest in the long grass.
