'Famous Photographs Turned into Arms Length Portraits'
I thought these were really interesting and relevant to this weeks class discussion! Famous and iconic historical photographs have been altered and turned into what we all see today on a daily basis, 'selfies'. Created by advertising agency Lowe Cape Town, for a Cape Town, South African-based newspaper 'Cape Times' as an advertising campaign these transformed images are to accompany their motto, "You can't get any closer to the news."
I thought these advertisements have taken the notion of 'arms length' capturing and presented it in a light that proves our contemporary understanding and desire to 'know all' and of 'access all' at ALL times.
