If you are stuck for money you can one hundred thousand percent use bar soap to wash your hair.

I am being dead serious. If you get a gentle soap for sensitive skin, preferably once with less alcohol or silicone (dove is alright), you can use that shit for EVERYTHING. And I dint wanna here anyone come at me with the "oh but that's grossssssss" man companies have brainwashed us so bad into believing there's any massive difference between the cleansing agents we use.

I am going to compare a popular shampoo and dove soap.

Notice how at their cores, they consist of about 4 things - cleanser (cocamidopropyl betaine), preservative (they use different preservatives in this example) and often an emollient and/or conditioning agent.

Ofc actual shampoo will usually contain less silicones or have additional ingredients to help hair stay shiny.

It's definitely not GOOD for your hair, but there's very little functional difference if you get a good soap and don't mind risking dryness.
