Certainly! You can find it in chapter 10 of the Prose Edda, in Gylfaginning. Here is the passage from the Anthony Faulkes translation:

“Norfi or Narfi was the name of a giant who lived in Giantland. He had a daughter called Night. She was black and dark in accordance with her ancestry.”

So yes, Thor’s grandmother is a Black goddess.

I was having a really crapy day do to trump supporters. But this blog made me feel a 100% better. Thank you.

I’m sorry you were feeling down. I’ve had moments like that too, like yesterday I think it was, I was at work and not having a great time there, and I thought, “And on top of all of this, I have to deal with trump too!” 

It was discouraging, and I didn’t really know what I wanted to do about it. I wanted to find a way to calm down, for my own self care and mental health, but I also wanted to be angry because trump is legitimately infuriating and I want to use that anger for good. 

What I came up with was trying to find ways to express my anger in ways that calm me. One way for me to do that is by writing about it. \

I’ve been working on a  new freelance series called “Trump vs. The Resistance,” which will be a weekly wrap-up of the shit trump’s pulling and the awesome/inspiring things people are doing in response. It’s a lot of work, but I think it will keep me focused.
